Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
Thanks budm, will do as suggested as soon as I get a free moment.
Will also do as Diah suggested & get back to you both once done, thank you...!

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
VCC 1 (Pin 1) Connected to 75VDC LED driver PS, it is also connected the Anode of the LED strings.
LED 1 (Pin 2) This is the Cathode of the LED string #1 which is returned to circuit ground via PWM Controlled MOSFET Q101.
LED 2 (Pin 3) This is the Cathode of the LED string #2 which is returned to circuit ground via PWM Controlled MOSFET Q102.
VCC 2 (Pin 5) Connected to 75VDC LED driver PS.it is also connected the Anode of the LED strings.
LED 3 (Pin 6) This is the Cathode of the LED string #3 which is returned to circuit ground via PWM Controlled MOSFET Q103.
LED 4 (Pin 7) This is the Cathode of the LED string #4 which is returned to circuit ground via PWM Controlled MOSFET Q104.
So if you can have pin 2, 3, 6, and pin 7 connected one at a time then turn on the TV and observe if each one of the LED string will come on or not before the circuit goes into protection shutdown. You have to do the test 4 times since you have 4 LED strings., you may have to do it in darkened room.Leave a comment:

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
Ok, will test tomorrow, thanks Diah.....
The other possibility is that more than one LED is bad, which I guess I would need 2 bulbs to test all the different pin combinations etcLeave a comment:

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
bulb test method applied to LED back light which controlled with external inverter which it had 24V feed from power boards and it had nothings to do with heat. and will never overload or damage any parts at inverter neither power boards.
the questions if you test this on all lines 2/3/6/7 and didn't help the LED remain on. then you have shorted / exploded / cutoff LED Line. no way unless take the screen apart. end of subject from my side.Last edited by Diah; 04-25-2021, 04:20 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
I measured 181.8 Ohms
So are you suggesting this is too low to achieve the objective?
I could leave the bulb switched on somewhere for a while, then quickly transfer it to the lamp & test while still warm heheh.... I guess you don't mean that kind of hot; as in hot = plugged into AC Mains, & cold = not?Leave a comment:

The bulb is 40 Watt (240/250V); hope that helps?Leave a comment:

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
What is the resistance of that incandescent lamp? Cold resistance of incandescent lamp will be really low Ohm (resistance will go up when lamp filament is heated up) which will overload the LED power supply.Last edited by budm; 04-24-2021, 03:30 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
if you did all correct and splash screen wasn't coming on, mean this line healthy.. so do the test to others 2 6 7What should I notice?
All I noticed is that the splash screen wasn't even coming on, instead the screen just flashed light....
It was possible that the wire I was putting down the Pin 3 socket wasn't touching the Pin on the Board properly, so I even tried holding it onto the pin externally to the socket also.... I took my time with those measurements this time, triple checked the readings very carefully etcLeave a comment:

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
Does bulb size matter at all?
It is a slightly smaller than standard household bulb....Leave a comment:

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
i am afraid you have error at volts reading.. to confirm i want you do the bulb test to the other lines one by one and notice any change.. pin 2 / 6 / 7Leave a comment:

explain any different you noticed when you did the bulb try?Leave a comment:

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
No joy, it didn't help....
So, in terms of taking the TV apart more, do you have any tricks to bypass the bad LED once it has been identified & we are looking at it?
Are we sure that this problem can't be caused by a bad capacitor on the Power Board or something?Leave a comment:

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
Yey I got there in the end...!
So, I will do as suggested, making sure that the lamp is switched on before switching on the TV....
Are we hoping for the screen to stay on & the bulb to light up?Leave a comment:

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
yes
after u cut test it in wall to be sure it work and its switch are on on.. then put it in tv as told.
you can open the switch and take out the wire from there.... no need to cutLast edited by Diah; 04-24-2021, 11:59 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
Do you mean for me to cut the end of the power cable that plugs into the wall off & use those wires?Leave a comment:

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
I have just found a table lamp; see photo.
However, I am still unsure where the wires you speak of are going to come from?Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

by LoagzHi, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction....
I have a S55V14B TV and it suffered a board failure. Main board part number: 222-655036003-30. I couldn't find a board with the exact part number so I've used what looks to be the same board however the part number is slightly different. 222-655036002-30.
After installing the main board the stanby light came back on, however it wont turn on. I spoke to Soniq Australia and managed to get a copy of the firmware but no service manual. They don't have one. I asked about the different part numbers but they... -
by nubiePlease help me ID the blown chip and point me where the short might be.
I have a L1085DG that is getting really hot and a blown up standby regulator (I assume, one leg is ground, one leg is 5v standby, the other has 180 Ohms to ground.
The L1085DG is in the front corner of the board. With no standby power I am using a jumper to get the PSU powered on.
Anything I should check first for a short?
Edit: I can look again but I don't think the USB are shorted, on back or the headers. The USB2.0 are powering up my portable monitor, so I don't think... -
by samsonnI've got a 55" Soniq LED TV which is stuck in standby mode (initiator LED on, but no picture/sound/backlight). It will intermittently start working again for a few days or weeks, but it has been months since the last time it turned on. I've seen a lot of similar issues with Soniq TVs that were fixed by updating the firmware, but I need to turn it on to update the firmware so no luck there.
I've taken the back off and visually inspected it but everything looks fine. No exploded capacitors or signs of overheating etc. All of the 1117 regulators on the main board were outputting... -
by lego1234567Hi. I have the following problem with my TV. After connecting to mains, the standby led (red) turns on, but TV is not responding to remote control or buttons on TV. After some measurements, I found out that +5 V standby voltage is present, but I dont have ON/OFF signal coming in to turn PSU on. It stays at zero volts. After looking at the schematic of the mainboard, I should get ON/OFF signal coming in at the R1402 resistor, but it stays around +3,5 V. So I removed it and I was able to turn on TV with buttons on TV, but not with remote control.
What could be the problem ? Thanks...2 Photos01-21-2024, 03:39 AM -
