It was the capacitor just below and Left of the number 17 written by the ITE chip.
I typed into google: 'super io chip getting hot'
And the first result was here:

The suggestion was a shorted capacitor. So I pulled out my multi-meter and sure enough shorted. Carefully popped it off with my flush cutters (It cut through the solder on one side. but...

ASUS A320M-K dead with hot ite 8655e chip.
I tried soldering a new one (hot air), same symptoms, no response from power button and
ITE 8655e GXS chip is getting hot.

Rosewill Tokamak 1200w blown mosfet 5R199P
Rosewill 1200w blown APFC? Mosfet.
I got this with a blown fuse. Replaced fuse and the APFC mosfet blew.
Removed the mosfet and got 5VSB, then when I connected PWON to ground the Fuse blew again.
So do I need to replace the mosfet? Or should I be looking elsewhere? Thanks.
According to a review of the 1500w unit there is an option for 4 transistors instead of 3 and they are different: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/rosewill-tokamak-1500-psu,4823-3.html

Very interesting. I have Nuc8 i7 Iris with USB 5v rail missing. SATA ok...

That thermal image seems shifted up by a fair amount. If you go by the electrolytic cap on the right and the cold spot.
I would imagine the chip and inductor on the left are getting hot, markings on chip 6J=8C W3N

Shorted ASUS Prime Z690-A (DDR5)?
This motherboard does not respond to the power button. And is dragging the 5VSB down by almost a volt. Sometimes the RGB on the IO lights up, and there is a green LED near the onboard power button, although it does not respond to any power buttons. Also does not boot if PSU is jumpered on.
I heard a Cat threw up on this PC, but I saw no evidence that it reached the motherboard (just the RX580) or any cleaning because it is still very dusty.
It also seems to have killed an RX580 and a GTX970 video card. Their fans don't spin and they don't show up on the PCIe...

No short was found in that circuit. One leg of diode is 12v, the other is 8v, the output is 0v

I really appreciate it! I doubt any of the other components are damaged. If you look just under the place marked HVS1 is where the short took place, it was moisture trapped under a plastic shield, those contacts completely oxidized and melted the plastic shield....

Chi Mei M236H1-L01 C2 Blown Diode Acer 24"
Due to some moisture the VGHP/HVS1 line shorted and this diode D8 blew. The picture is there. It just fades in after some minutes and is quite solarized. Updates again take minutes.
Any idea what Dioide to use? Thx.

Strix B450-F Gaming no response, missing components.
No response at all to the power button. No debug LED or fan. Nothing getting hot.
I've got 0v on one power button pin and 3.3v on the other. When I jump them 3.3v pulls low.
I tried 9700E processor and R5 3600
Missing these parts near IT8665E. Any Idea what they were? Thanks.2 Photos

Re: MSI RX 470 ARMOR 4GB with limited frequency
Is it possible you only get a crash at idle speed when the voltage goes low? That table of voltage is suspicious to me. If you are locking the speed in Windows maybe it never goes low?
I would get a compatible BIOS from tech powerup .com and open it with the editor and see if your BIOS is correct.
Alternatively you could make it so the lowest mhz/mv setting is the same as the second lowest, so maybe it won't crash? I am more familiar with Nvidia, I don't know much about the AMD hacking.
Whether...

Hot LDO Cyberpower/ASRock B360m Extreme/Pro4
I have 2 hot LDO on this motherboard. It is an OEM ASRock B360 Pro 4 for branded "Xtreme" for CyberPower (they just left off a bunch of stuff, rear IO, second front panel USB3 etc).
I'm getting no POST, and a couple of hot LDO; RT8059 and UZ2085G. Any idea what to check, all caps in the area for shorts?
If you have schematic or hints I would be most happy to hear them. Thank you....

NUC8i7BEB (BEH) No USB port power schematic/board view
Got this sweet 8th gen i7 NUC with the Iris graphics for a song. It is a beast, runs 4.5GhzI am looking for schematic/board view, or just some hints on where to go poking to get some power to my USB ports.
All USB A ports are without power, including the onboard headers. 2x front, 2x rear.
I verified that they are enabled in BIOS and I toggled the "sleep state power output" settings too. Also tried the yellow "always on" port with power off or on.
The C port (Thunderbolt) is fine, and I am using a type C...

Re: GTX 1050Ti, System freezes, x8 PCI-E
That might be down to his motherboard, but I would clean the PCIe connector well, and look for a missing or damaged surface mount components on the link pair traces.
If those turn up nothing, maybe bad GPU core or BGA problems....

Re: B560M D3H help identify component
I have similar symptoms on a Z490 Gigabyte:
CPU Cold
MOSFETS cold
CPU POST debug LED lit up*
This component 11M36 is the hottest thing on the board by a large margin when I look at it with a FLIR ONE thermal camera.
Not sure what the component does or where it goes in the circuit

Re: PC Power & Cool 750 SLi only 0.10v on Green wire.
Still the same symptoms: dead as a doornail. The green wire seems to go to the HY510N chip, which then sends a signal through the optoisolator just fine (15v IIRC) and that goes to a transistor underneath the other side of the board. I'll try to trace that out.
I'll look at the green wire again, but it has good continuity to the HY510N....

Re: PC Power & Cool 750 SLi only 0.10v on Green wire.
Thanks for the heads up on the glue. In person it is quite darkened in my opinion.
That will indeed be my next step. The glue is highly suspect so I will do both.
Aha! I will not worry about it then.
I agree! I snap these up when I can find them for ~$20 because they really deliver enough power to run 3 systems (Or one current gen video card XD) My first one ran a Q8300 overclocked by quite a lot on a Scythe Infinity Mugen! This is the first one that...

PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W SLI only 0.10v on Green wire.
I have an old PC Power & Cooling 750w EPS12V SLi power supply with the 80mm fan that is unresponsive except for the 5v Standby.
Green wire has 0.10v on it. Will not start PSU when shorted to ground.
There is an ICE2A0565 running the PSU and a
HY510N 'watchdog'.
Does anyone have schematics or an idea of where to start with this guy.
5VSB is at 5.06v connected to Motherboard. There is a 7805 and a diode running the 5VSB it seems....
