Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
Ok, will test tomorrow, thanks Diah.....
The other possibility is that more than one LED is bad, which I guess I would need 2 bulbs to test all the different pin combinations etc

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
I measured 181.8 Ohms
So are you suggesting this is too low to achieve the objective?
I could leave the bulb switched on somewhere for a while, then quickly transfer it to the lamp & test while still warm heheh.... I guess you don't mean that kind of hot; as in hot = plugged into AC Mains, & cold = not?

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
The bulb is 40 Watt (240/250V); hope that helps?

Does bulb size matter at all?
It is a slightly smaller than standard household bulb....

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
What should I notice?
All I noticed is that the splash screen wasn't even coming on, instead the screen just flashed light....
It was possible that the wire I was putting down the Pin 3 socket wasn't touching the Pin on the Board properly, so I even tried holding it onto the pin externally to the socket also.... I took my time with those measurements this time, triple checked the readings very carefully etc

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
No joy, it didn't help....
So, in terms of taking the TV apart more, do you have any tricks to bypass the bad LED once it has been identified & we are looking at it?
Are we sure that this problem can't be caused by a bad capacitor on the Power Board or something?

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
Yey I got there in the end...!
So, I will do as suggested, making sure that the lamp is switched on before switching on the TV....
Are we hoping for the screen to stay on & the bulb to light up?

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
Do you mean for me to cut the end of the power cable that plugs into the wall off & use those wires?

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
I have just found a table lamp; see photo.
However, I am still unsure where the wires you speak of are going to come from?...

How about a resistor or something?

I'm struggling to grasp where the wires come from?

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
If I'm understanding you correctly, I may have something suitable; please see the attached photo & let me know if I'm on the right track?
It is basically a switch that plugs into the wall, with the two bare wires available at the other end........

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
Or do you mean connect a wire to each of a bulb's nodes?

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
Do you mean the filament from inside a light globe?
Like, smash the globe to rip out the filament?

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
Hello again, sorry to let the issue go a bit stale.....
With black probe on chassis ground and red probe on each pin, here are the measurements:
VCC 1 (Pin 1) = 74V Powering On & 5.2V Post Boot
LED 1 (Pin 2) = 11V Powering On & 11V Post Boot
LED 2 (Pin 3) = 11V Powering On & 0.6V Post Boot
VCC 2 (Pin 5) = 74V Powering On & 5.2V Post Boot
LED 3 (Pin 6) = 11V Powering On & 11V Post Boot
LED 4 (Pin 7) = 11V Powering On & 11V Post Boot
LED 2 (Pin...

Sorry, I meant to say Pin 3, not Pin 6; I tried 2, 3 & 7.....

Re: Soniq E40S12A-AU Stuck In Standby
I just tried my luck with Pin 2 removed, but to no avail.
I put Pin 2 back in the plug, & tried again with Pin 6, & then Pin 7 but nothing made any difference.....
I am now completely stuck again; any suggestions?
