    You have a bad led in the panel, it only takes one or two to be bad to trigger the over current circuit for the backlight circuit. The backlight tester will does not have this feature so it will supply enough voltage to supply around 20ma of current to light as many led's as it can. if one is shorted the rest will light for a short a split second (flash)

        Guess its a bad backlight, so you don't have to do that test.

            When I test it with backlight tester, The LEDs will get bright for a few seconds, then thwy will dim for a 2 seconds and then again back on lighting and this cycle goes on with backlight tester

                black LED wire with ground = 11.3V (leds connected)

                white wire with ground = 103V (leds connected)

                black LED wire with ground = 113.3V (leds disconnected)

                white wire with ground = 168V (leds disconnected)


                the filter capacitors when the tv switches on give me changing values. Not something stable.

                I checked also the mainboard with mainboard tester (TV160 Generation Full HD Display LVDS Turn VGA LED/LCD TV Motherboard Tester) and also got no picture

                        My mistake, the filter capacitors have 218V

                            T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)

                            Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

                            The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

                            Original T-con:
                            Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

                            First replacement T-con:

                            I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

                            Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.

                            The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV...

                            Hey Everyone,

                            So I've got this Samsung and the reported issue is that when powered on the backlight comes on, but no picture, no sound, it will flicker, the standby light will flash red twice and repeat the whole process...each loop lasts about 15 seconds.

                            I've googled the issue and understand it is likely a panel/driver board issue, but was hoping the "tape method" could be successful. Before I did that though, I disconnected the left LVDS cable and powered the TV on. This time I got sound, no picture and the two blink standby light stopped. Did the same...

                            Hi
                            Got this Samsung LED tv. Plug set in standby light comes on steady. Switch on Standby light flashes 2 times for a sequence of 5.On the psu I only get the a5v coming out. Disconnect PSU from Main board, backlights come on and all the PSU voltages come up. When in fault mode there are no voltages on any of the regulators on the main board. Yet the processor must be working otherwise it wouldnt change when the set is switched on. Also none of the chips on the main board are getting warm.
                            The PSU board is BN44-00502C

                            hi guys, i need your help again...i have tcl u65x9006. while i was watching it become darker like when a movie ends, little by little the image disappear. now if i turn on i have back light on, after like 1 min i have also sound but no picuture. the back light is on i take off one at time the ldvs but nothing change always no picture. i tried to cover with a piece of paper the pin of ldvs i cover like 7 8 pins but nothing worked. the tv stay with no picture. there is a tcon board.i checked the voltage there on the fuse i have 11,8 volts. there is caps in shorts on the exit of the tcon i have...
