    yours original MB suffer too from what you changed at the new one.. this why i linked the bin file #26 for reprogramming it self or to new chip.

    It was a bit of a gamble... Seller said the TV that the board came from didn't work...it would come on and just show the 'VIZIO' logo, nothing more...which is a pretty common issue with this model...but you never know.... It was a success though, one less TV in the scrap pile.

    Ok, just so not to leave a thread hanging..... I finally got this one going...the owner wasn't in a hurry and I had other stuff to work on. Anyway, as much as I hate doing this, I just couldn't narrow down what component was causing the issue and I just couldn't waste more time on it....so I found a used board on ebay for $16 shipped that had the 'frozen splash screen' issue (a common issue and easy fix)....so I bought that and the $14 worth of eproms for it from shopjimmy, and we're back in business.

    If I hit the outlined area with cold air from the compressor or warm air from a hair dryer, things would go bananas; screen freezes, gibberish, and sometimes it'd even recover and be perfect..... Anywhere else on the board had no affect.

    I reflowed and checked components until I was blue in the face, nothing ever tested bad. The LVDS's were fine & clean (I cleaned them several times in the process of diagnosing).

    Anyway, old board set aside, and new old board into play. After replacing the eproms, here we are!!

    Now for the HTPC...

    I diddled with this a little today, slow cold Monday. I got my backlight back. Pinned that down to an open fuse @ position 'TF1', which would be a thermal fuse. I probably nuked that one incidentally, as I was working in that area with the SMT hot air gun and probably buzzed it. I replaced it and the backlight has returned, but with the same garbled image....so back to square one.

    if you press the metal shield on main boards did the whine sound reduced.?

    i would solder out the metal shield .. and try locate the SPI Flash, and the main IC.

    i found the SPI .bin file in case if it need later..
    No pic, no sound along with no BL.

    I had to move it off the bench so I could get other things run through....this one got stuck on the 'get back to' shelf.....but I will report back.

    Hitting the chip with spray may cause it to go below 0 C which is not an operational temperature for this chip , so that might be normal. But maybe its still the Tcon at fault. Ye this is a tough one. It could be the problem with the screen PCB thingy , i would open the tv and see if there are any test points on that pcb , maybe try to spray on that thing and see if it does anything. If all else fails perhaps try and change the motherboard but yeah , hthats risky.

    i dont think this LG Display IC the issue.. its effect when you freeze it sent different Freq signal TX to the panel.

    There are some SMD Lytics cap in that T-CON section on the main board, may be you can try pin point cold spray on those caps.

    The focus of attention is now this chip/area.

    If I hit that chip with the air, the display goes nuts and actually freezes up until the chip warms back up. Never do I get a 'normal' image on the display.

    Hitting the CPU (inside the can) has no affect. Neither do any of the tuners/IO areas. It's down to something in that TCON chip area (tcon was my original suspect, but couldn't confirm).

    I've reflowed this area several times, it has no corrected the issue.

    Maybe its getting narrowed here. Cold air anywhere on the PSU renders no changes. Same with the tab bonds, nothing changes. If I blast the tcon/signal processor board, things happen. The 'garble' changes patterns but never straightens out. Looks like perhaps some reflowing is in order.....but atleast it eliminated the PSU and the tab bonds.

    search after main boards No. not model. Vizio some models belong to other brands..

    about cold or warm state it garble. when it start garble plug it from wall socket and plug it on again. if it show clear display then its MFC FW. if it garble then its related to cold & warm of parts

    What's the secret for the service menu though...that one is bugging me. I've never had one I couldn't get into.

    Vizio E70-E3 Two white vertical lines
    by brad2157
    I picked up a Vizio E70-E3 for free that shows Vizio logo and then goes to a black screen. Original owner said he started having wifi issues and then he tried to reset the TV and that's when it wouldn't boot up any longer after his reset attempt. I picked up a replacement main board from eBay that matches the same model # board as the original from the TV.

    Original main board - Shows Vizio logo when TV powers on, then goes to black screen. Doesn't boot up. No screen issues with any lines on start up Vizio logo.

    Replacement main board - Boots up fine, but starting...

    Vizio V585-J01 dancing lines and image doubling
    by x_orange90_x
    I got this tv yesterday and it shows a screen full of colored vertical bars and horizontal lines that move, change, and dance around. When the set is powered on there is a slight buzz from the tcon. I removed one ribbon at a time and this was the result:

    Right side connected, left side disconnected = half image on right (somewhat distorted, see photo attached) white screen on left. NO buzzing from TCON

    Left side connected, right side disconnected = right side black, left side white with distorted horizontal lines near top of screen. Buzzing from TCON

    I swapped...

    vizio e65 e3 LED tv color vertical lines center tv only
    by viking509
    I recently replaced the led backlights with LB65041 LED Backlight Strips and after putting it back together the backlights work but there are only colored vertical lines only in the center of the tv. I can see the Netflix logo (jumbled) after a minute or less the screen went dark. When I turned it on again the lines were back. Then I replaced the t-con board but the same vertical lines in the picture. My question is what is my next step? Could it be a source tab bond issue? A buffer board issue? Could I have loosened a connection to the panel when replacing the backlights? Should I replace the...

    Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
    by Tynan Dill
    I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

    Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

    I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

    The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

    With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

    Assuming...

    Vizio E470VL got +5VSB, but no 12V
    by Bugman1400
    EDITED: I thought my Vizio E470VL has +5VSB and no 12v on the PS board, but after plugging the cable back in and testing the pins on the Main board I realized that I do have 12V. I assume the 12V is turned on when the ON/OFF switch is pressed. The Vizio light in front does go from Standby Orange to White when ON. But, I still have no picture or sound. Test values of PS board are below.

    +5VSB= +5.09
    12V= +12.18
    PS_ON= +2.25
    I_ON/OFF= +3.27
    LAMP= +3.18
    DIM= +2.97

    Any more testing I can do on Main board or is it just a replacement?...
