I recently came across this Sharp AQUOS. It appears that there is a backlight issue (see picture). Any advice on going about repairing this?

Possibly top and bottom edge lit and some of the bottom leds have failed.

Was it replacing individual leds that you are referring to?Comment

Re: sharp aquos lc-60le640u Backlight
Are the strips the same length? Whereas the 60 has 2, and 70 has 3. Could I rewire ones from the 70”?Comment

Re: sharp aquos lc-60le640u Backlight
No, the 3, 70" strips together are longer, then the 2, 60" strips. they go from one side to the other of the lcd panel and very likely light the edge of the light guide plate.Comment

Re: sharp aquos lc-60le640u Backlight
Turn the backlights down to increase the lifespan of the leds. It may have been one of the led connections has a poor contact rather than a led gone. Time will tell.Willing to help but I'm no expert.Comment

by triplefourthis tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even... -
by hollox123Hello, I have an "ASUS ROG Strix G713QR" laptop, and for approx. 3 months I have the following problems:
1. Laptop keyboard doesn't work
2. The backlight on the laptop keyboard doesn't work
3. The x2 side LEDs (red) on the laptop don't work
The power button works, the touchpad works, and all the USB, HDMI, Ethernet, etc. ports work.
I already tried to reinstall all the drivers and reinstall Windows. So I don't know what to try anymore that is software-related.
But I am strongly aiming that it is somehow a BIOS-related problem,... -
by scubacamperI found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display... -
by sefosterI have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked. If we plug it in and let it cycle through the flashing of the Sharp...

by signal.questI have a Panasonic LED TV TC-40A420U. The TV was given to me as an attempt to fix or throw out. I replaced the Backlight LEDs and now the screen lights up, but there is no image/display. If I play with the up/down buttons I can get the display to change from black to garbled. I can't get sound from HDMI but not sure of what input is selected. I have no remote control. When I connect a laptop to the HDMI ports it recognizes a Panasonic TV for display and sound output but I can't see or hear anything through the TV. This makes me think the mainboard is OK, but not sure if mainboard can...2 Photos
