    Hisense 50K23DGW

    HI All, I have a hisense 50K23DGW that flashes the red status LED 11 times on startup. No other sign of activity.

    While the LED is off or flashing (trying to start, or after it tried to startup) I get the following voltages on the PS:
    12V = 12V
    SW = 2.8V
    STB = 3.8V
    16V = 19V

    While the LED is red, in Standby, I get the following voltages:
    12V = 12V
    SW = 0V
    STB = 0V
    16V = 21V

    I have also tried removing the LED string from the PS, no change in behaviour. I have included some pictures of the various boards in the TV, if they are helpful at all.

    Any assistance would be appreciated. I am willing to dive deep on this repair, if needed, but I'd like some guidance...are there similar models with schematics I can refer to?

    Thanks in advance, Ivan

    The fact that you can remove the led string from board and get the same result would indicate the led string in the panel is open. likely one or more open led's in the panel. You can try checking the voltage ACROSS the le connector, I suspect the voltage to be higher than 200v when the tv is turne on, this voltage will likely drop below 200v after a few seconds due to OV protection.

      1) Please attach good clear pictures of the v=backside of the TV showing all the boards so we can see how they are connected together.
      2) What Voltage do you get on the LED connector pins (connector in place) with ref to GND when TV is off and when TV is turned on, notes: you need to leave the test probes in place while doing this test.

        Sounds like failed backlight LEDs. Although I cannot recall if there was a blinking LED error code on the ones I fixed.

        Your 50K23DGW is very much the same as the non-smart version 50K20DG. LED light strings are very easy to replace on this TV when compared to Samsung or LG. Each LED strip is vertical and completely separable from the adjacent strip. They are all identical so no need to order two or three different types... If you order a replacement strip, get a couple - you may need more than one if a different strip fails in the future.

        You can replace a single LED in a string, but I have had to re-repair same TV for same problem with another LED 8 months afterwards.

        Not a difficult TV to fix if you're careful.

          I saw a video were someone taped off some off the ribbon and it worked but I don't know how you find which pins to block off. And if...

          Can I Swap Screens Between Two Hisense 75” QLED TVs?
          by ShahZaib Ghumman
          Hey folks,

          I'm not a professional, but I do have a decent amount of knowledge when it comes to electronic repairs.

          A friend of mine recently bought a brand new Hisense 75” 4K QLED Smart TV (75E7NQTUK) but unfortunately, he cracked the screen just a few days later. Luckily, he had insurance and got a replacement right away but weirdly enough, the insurance company never asked for the broken unit back.

          So, I took it off his hands and figured I'd try to repair it myself rather than see it go to waste. I've been searching for a replacement screen but can't...

          Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
          by Tynan Dill
          I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

          Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

          I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

          The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

          With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...

          Hisense stuck in Colors cycle like test pattern.
          by nono34
          Hello,

          I accidentally changed the project ID in the service menu of my Vidaa Hisense 100U7KQ TV. When I turn on the TV, the screen displays an RGB color cycle (test mode???). I contacted Hisense, and they sent me a usb_MTK_9618.EU.bin file, but it doesn't work. I can see that the USB drive is being read, and it flashes for about 10 minutes (the screen remains in the color cycle during the firmware reading), then the TV turns off and restarts, but still in the color cycle mode.

          I want to mention that the 4GB USB is formatted in FAT32 MBR. I've also renamed the file to...
