  • ASUS ROG MAXIMUS PQ301 gets hot

    Hi all,

    I have two slightly different (but I'm sure similar...) ASUS ROG motherboards that have essentially the same fault. They are the ASUS MAXIMUS VI GENE and the ASUS MAXIMUS VIII HERO. Both have excessive loading on the +3VSB rail, which makes PQ301 get very hot. I did some searching through the forums, and it looks like someone had another ASUS motherboard with the same fault, but there was no follow-up on what eventually fixed it. I feel like it should be a common issue, but I don't know. Does anyone have any insight on what components are most likely at fault? Does anyone...

  • Gateway TFT30W90, TCON replacements, or screen swap

    Hi all,

    I have a Gateway TFT30W90 monitor. It is an early 30" WUXGA model, and when it worked, it was gorgeous. These monitors are notorious for having cold solder joints on the T-con board, and it's getting old now, so even if something were available in the market, I'm liking going to have the same issue(s).

    Questions:

    1) To what extent are T-CON boards interchangeable? Is there some common data format for the data in/data out that most manufacturers adhere to?

    2) Is it possible to hack the LCD to be used in a different monitor?...

    Hisense 50K23DGW

    HI All, I have a hisense 50K23DGW that flashes the red status LED 11 times on startup. No other sign of activity.

    While the LED is off or flashing (trying to start, or after it tried to startup) I get the following voltages on the PS:
    12V = 12V
    SW = 2.8V
    STB = 3.8V
    16V = 19V

    While the LED is red, in Standby, I get the following voltages:
    12V = 12V
    SW = 0V
    STB = 0V
    16V = 21V

    I have also tried removing the LED string from the PS, no change in behaviour. I have included some pictures of the various...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

    Hi All, I've been a lurker here for a number of years, haven't had much to fix until recently, however. I'm an EE with some board level debug experience.

    Does anyone know how I can post in other threads, or get to see my profile? I get a warning that says I may not have activated my account? Please help!
