Samsung UN55F8000 BXZA - No HDMI after power surge

    Hey all,

Got a Samsung UN55F8000 and the HDMI went out after a power outage. EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS fine. Have tested the HDMIs with multiple wires, and other sources VGA, AV etc all still work. TV is a daily living room TV just would be nice to get HDMI back.

    Suspect Mainboard/ Mainboard CPU

Got a main board off EBay and swapped out mainboard and surprisingly TV would power on, click three times, and power off. I took the eBay board out immediately to not do any additional damage. Upon further inspection the seller (TV parts lots of reviews) has quite a few “board was bad” reviews.

Did I miss a step in mainboard install (reset firmware) or checking the Tcon or power supply for an HDMI malfunction? Plan on returning the eBay mainboard for a “tested” board and trying again but thought I'd check you guys first.

    Appreciate any feedback!

You need to match the number on the white sticker not the bare board number.

That silicon image HDMI switch IC on the main board failed.

Re: Samsung UN55F8000 BXZA - No HDMI after power surge

Thanks RJ great point - I forgot to add yes the boards are both BN94-06218B on large sticker and BN97-07157A on small sticker. The other random numbers matched (even the date) except for a a few. The eBay board looks like the heat sinks were removed and put back on so I think this board is not from a working tv.

If the board was wrong match, would the power kick off? What I’m essentially trying to narrow down is if I just have wrong/bad board, or if there is something else wrong on the other boards too (despite all else working but the HDMI.

CAPleaker- which IC is the silicon image HDMI switch IC? Image below (eBay board- faulty board is back in TV).

Cool I see it. Unfortunately don’t have the expertise to replace that IC myself. Based on your responses I think I’ll return this eat board that won’t power TV on and try for a better verified replacement. Will let you know how it works out

Your model is Samsung UN55F8000BFXZA correct? I'm assuming you missed a letter.

Awesome thanks. This matches my board number and you are correct it is BFXZA. I updated the thread in case people are searching and I get this fixed.

Just to add a bit further information to this thread, but if you are looking to purchase a replacement board, don't worry about the board numbers, part numbers, or model numbers. Just look at the picture of the board they are selling and make sure it's not a different variant for Europe or Latin america, unless you want that version. The Tuner pieces will be different for certain countries.

All the these boards are interchangeable, if you have the 46" 55" 60" or 75" they are all cross compatible with one another. We repair these boards and test them all with the exact same test set without any issues.
This is applicable to almost all Samsung LED main boards BTW.

                          Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                          Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

                          Hi All,

                          Need help.

I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.

So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard....

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any help I might get here

My Samsung TV is about 4 years old. The exact model number is UE75MU7009TXZG.
About half a year ago I started seeing occasional green frames pop up while watching movies. I mean literally green frames. Not the image turning green, but the entire screen turning green for a split second. This happened maybe once or twice during a 2 hour movie. So no big deal, but clearly something was not quite right.

Since a few days, the TV won't turn...

Samsung TV won't turn on ... keeps cycling the power relay on & off
                          by Journey11
                          Hi All,
First time posting here ... my name is Kevin but my friends call me Journey.
I have a Samsung 75" LCD model UN75RU8000FXZA that I don't remember the original fault other than it wouldn't power up anymore.
After it sat for many month's I decide to look at it again. The motherboard seemed to have power regulation issues. After much fussing I decided to just get a new MB.
It came a few days ago and I installed it now just cycles the power relay on and off ... when on the backlights light up and then dim and then relay kicks off and the whole things starts again....
