Thanks gents, super helpful. I was going down a rabbit hole on cof and will keep going.
The picture on this tv is great, tempting to leave it, but just as tempting to get it right. Thx

Thanks. If you don’t think it’s a bad LED I’ll put effort into other potential issues as I research, thxLeave a comment:

Would a single black line be a bad pixel or potentially something else?Leave a comment:

Samsung QN75Q90TAF (Q90T) with single vertical line and horizontal lines bottom of screen
Have a Samsung Q90T that has a single thin vertical line on left side. (See pictures)
When I apply light pressure at the bottom of screen along line, more vertical lines appear then disappear.
Also along the bottom of screen is about an inch of horizontal lines.
Before I tear it apart, and start inspecting driver boards, tab bonds and the Tcon, first wanted to see what the community thinks. Is it a shorted led and thus a bad panel anyways?
The picture is amazing otherwise.

LG OLED77C2PUA CUSQLJR Does not turn on - solid standby light with one blink.
Hello, been a while since posting and always appreciate this forum and the help.
Picked up an LG OLED77C2PUA that does not turn on.
The standby light does come on when plugged in. Pressing the on/off button on TV (or LG remote) the red light turns off for 1 second and comes back on steady. I took off the back panel and tested the power supply. When pressing the power button, the 20V and 12V to Mainboard spike to 19.9 and 11.9 for a few seconds then slowly drop back off. Can tell the supply is coming on for 2-3 seconds. The 12V to TCON also spikes to 11.9 then drops back... -
Re: Samsung UN58J5190 - Doesn't Power on and has Standby
Opened her up and multiple LEDs are out, including one complete set. New sets came in from eBay and replaced all the strands and now the TV works. Turned down the backlights immediately 😀 Glad the power supply was protected.
Thanks for the help and feedback Neil, and the link to the video which I used to to confirm your points and test/fix the TV.Leave a comment:

Re: Samsung UN58J5190 - Doesn't Power on and has Standby
Thanks Neil - that makes sense. I didn't find any bad FETs or Diodes on the PS LED driver area or elsewhere, however with the LED tester I only got ~95V on one side (42 lights) of the LED wire and no response from the other side (or 302V my tester max). Ordered a new set of lights and will take her apart. Will report what I find out. ThanksLeave a comment:

Samsung UN58J5190 - Doesn't Power on and has Standby
Hey everyone - I have a Samsung UN58J5190 with these symptoms: Does not power on, has standby light, standby light blinks 5 times after pressing "power on." When plugged in the power supply is making a very faint ticking sound, and this goes away when pressing power on.
Following instructions from the great team here in recent posts for Samsung with similar symptoms, I did the following tests:
I tested with mainboard disconnected from power supply - backlights do not come on (symptoms no change/5 red blinks)
I tested with T-Con disconnected... -
Re: TCL 55S401 - No Backlight (powers on, sound, flashlight image)
Opened her up and tested the LEDs. Had two LEDs out, one top strip and one on bottom strip on left side of screen. Got a replacement set of light strips (not skilled enough to replace a single LED) and went ahead and replaced them all, and now the TV works, nice and bright. Will turn the backlight down.
Thanks to bud, Neil, and hand for your responses. Always learn something new on hereLeave a comment:

Re: TCL 55S401 - No Backlight (powers on, sound, flashlight image)
With LED connector unplugged from PS I get:
P9 LED2+ : 0> 68~101v > 0
and
P2 LED3- : 0 > 78~90V > 0
The PS clicks once and I get a 90v or so reading and back to 0 and then a few seconds later it clicks again and I get a 65V or so reading then back to 0Leave a comment:

Re: TCL 55S401 - No Backlight (powers on, sound, flashlight image)
Thanks Neil, I’ve heard that is common. Figured I would rule out the PS at least first and since I didn’t get a jump in voltage was wondering what the deal was. What do you think about testing on the PS?
I’ve heard these TV LEDs are a little easier to swap so if that’s the case I’d give a go
Great point about on/offLeave a comment:

TCL 55S401 - No Backlight (powers on, sound, flashlight image)
Hey everyone - I have a TCL 55S401 with these symptoms: powers on, has sound, and a black screen.
I tested with a flashlight and can see the TCL logo and setup screen. I did a factory reset and with a flashlight I can now see "select language."
Following instructions from Budm in a recent post for a TCL 55S405 without backlight, I did the following tests:
Power Supply to LED (pin label is under board)
Tested w/ multimeter at 200V and tv unplugged to plugged in to power on:
P10 LED1+ : 0
P9 LED2+ : 0>48~60>0.69
P8...
