Welcome to Badcaps!
Can you give some history on this TV unit?
- Did this just happen one day?
- Did you get this used?
- What's the ORIGINAL T-CON part number, whats the NEW T-CON part number?Last edited by ngth82; 04-03-2020, 03:56 PM.-Thomas

Any idea if the original owner took this thing apart?
With the back cover removed and the TV on, what happens if you lightly press on the flex cables between the LCD display and the narrow PCBs that connect to the LCD? Does it change the output behavior?

Re: Insignia NS-50DR620NA18 vertical colored lines no picture
with my experience, vertical colored lines are cause by main board failures. tcon board issues are usually either no picture or half of a good picture. from your picture however, they didnt look like colored lines i usually see. being that you replaced the tcon, that leaves the main board and the display panel itself. main board is cheaper, id start there.Comment

Re: Insignia NS-50DR620NA18 vertical colored lines no picture
Did you remove the metal frame of the LCD panel assembly to get the tab bonding board (as shown on post 5) and inspect them? Right now the problem is the LCD panel not T-CON or main board.
Can we the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards?
Is the tab bonding board located on the top or the bottom edge of the LCD panel?Last edited by budm; 04-07-2020, 04:14 PM.Never stop learning

Check the MLCC caps on the driver board between the tcon and panel for low ohms, ohm mode with tv unplugged from power.Last edited by nomoresonys; 04-07-2020, 04:16 PM.Comment

Big problem when it comes to testing and finding out what's wrong, I'd grab a digital multimeter from one of the big box stores, about 10 bucks or so.Comment

There's a ton of posts here regarding that, basically if you find one reading off, involves removing the small MLCC caps on the board one at a time and checking it and rechecking the rest on the board, til you find the right one, they are in series so one bad one can make others read bad. It could also be a different problem on the panel but many times it was just one of those silly little caps at fault.Last edited by nomoresonys; 04-07-2020, 05:12 PM.Comment

Well, if you do not have meter to check the resistance of the caps on the tab bonding then you will have bigger problem removing the bad caps and install new caps due to lack of tools and experience.Never stop learning

by Stanley1843Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

by srsI'm not sure what to do next and came here since y'all helped me fix a 50" plasma TV back in 2014, which is still working!
A friend gave me an Insignia NS-50DR620NA18 50" TV that suddenly developed large vertical lines on it. He said he had no idea what might have caused it and has replaced it with a larger TV. He was going to throw it away.
I did not notice any bulged or leaking caps on any board, the voltages produced by the power supply match the voltage that the pins are marked. The backlight leds are working. I have tried cleaning the ribbon cables... -

by SuperluminalHi all, looking for some input on this one. I've been reading the forums for quite some time but this is my first time posting for help.
LG 47LV5500-UA
10 years old
20,000+ hours on it.
Watching TV on it last week and right while I was watching the image suddenly started experiencing the symptoms in pics. Rainbow chromatic vertical lines and alignment issues. The issue is uniform across the entire panel. It does not come and go, the symptoms are stable.
Here is what I've tried so far:
- Factory reset and cycle of picture options.... -
by Maverick1234Hi,
I have a Samsung 55inch TV (UN55C6400RF). It has started showing colored vertical lines. I have opened the TV and the power board had one pin (out1-) which is discolored (Model # bn44-00358b). Can this be bad or is it the T-Con board (Model # D03464E0J09B6012066). Any recommendations on diagnosing the issue?
Thanks,
