    Bad Experiences with repairs

So who's had bad experiences with tv repairs? I was given a nice LG 50" Smart TV with burnt out led's and I replaced them all. Put it back together and thought I had the screen in the right position. Clicked the case on and crack. Ugh. Garbage now.

I think most of us have had the horror of cracking a screen even though we were as careful as we could.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Backlight repairs are by far the most riskiest repair but if you examine how the panel lays down into the plastic trim properly and use tape or a marker to show where it was originally positioned it will save you a lot of headache. TCL's seem to be the ones we have to be more careful with as they use cheap plastic trim and that panel has to lay down flat in those slots and there is very little room between the plastic trim and the bezel. Make sure that panel is laying properly in that trim before you put the bezel on. Now we are seeing Qled bezeless Samsungs coming in and we refuse to do backlight repairs on them due to the fact the panels are taped in with a 2 sided adhesive tape on the sides and top. That's all that is holding that panel in. Even a thin bezel is better than no bezel at all especially since the panel picture still has a gap of about 1/8" thick with no picture all the way around. As soon as Yuppie Scum puts that Tv above his fireplace that adhesive gives way and the panel starts bowing. Poor engineering Samsung.

The edge lits are pretty difficult to handle as well. Had a UN55ES that I changed the backlights on and I was pressing on the bezel trying to get a screw hole to line up. The panel was likely not sitting perfectly flush in the super thin bezel and I had caused a dime size damage in the bottom corner. It was tolerable and I was going to keep the tv for myself but had a second issue with some tape that had drifted from the edge into the picture area. Lifting up the panel to move the tape, the panel cracked at the weakened spot.

            PHILIPS 42PFL7008k/12 HARDWARE UPGRADE(REQUIRED HARDWARE/EXPERIENCES)!!
            by rakonja
Hello everyone! I am the owner of a Philips 42PFL7008k/12 TV! It served me well all the years. Sometimes it used to get "stuck", after which I used to disconnect it from the voltage, hold the power button on the device for about 30 seconds, and after turning it on again, it worked like new!Only once it threw something like no software! Now it happened that it won't turn on anymore, the red LED blinks twice!Do you have any suggestions? They are probably not cost effective to repair, but I am sorry to get rid of it, it has served me well and looks like new!The only downside is the slow...

Creating a Testing Jig for TV Repairs -
            by KYBOSH
I was watching a YT episode from Nick's TV Repair and he literally had a test jig comprised of all the internal components of a TV on a wooden board.
I thought that was amazingly smart as I always thought that TV repair businesses had a room of various actual TVs they would use to do testing.
My question is how was he able to connect this generic looking external display to the jig? The connectors are intentionally covered up by cardboards so we cant see it but i wonder if its a custom in-house device or something that could be purchased online?

somebody familiar with hasboard repairs? BM1397AD interchangeable with Bm1397AG ? S17+ and T17+
            by stormanimal83
i got myself a complete Antminer T17+ with 3 dead hasboards for a very good price.... for parts i bought S17PRO boards.... i replaced all missing resistors and changed some asics because they were bad... but wihout a tester... i used the miner instead and changed firmware to awesome miner firmware for better and faster diagnoses via miner log and lower fan speed...

for my understanding and what i read on the internet these asics should be interchangeable in one chain but in my case i´m getting no more communication to none of the asics on all 3 boards. 2 of the boards weren´t in...

ASUS ROG Zephyrus GA401IV - It won't start - voltage present after repairs
            by LeeBa
            Hi,
please I have this APL6012 circuit on my NB defective - it heats up. I soldered it but the NB still won't start. All voltages are present - except for battery charging.
The NB can be turned on, the keyboard lights up, the current consumption is slightly over 1A. All voltages are present. But nothing happens. It's just that as everything heats up, the current slowly increases.
Should the NB turn on without this circuit or does it need it to start? I don't know if that circuit communicates with the EC.
Thank you very much for your responses.

            White screen repairs
            by harp
To ask here... I have few devices with white screen problem, actualy nokia 2220 and some fuji? camera, and try to understand what is common problem to cause that issue.
Yes, both devices work everything else probably ok, I mean, I hear intro melody and keypress click sound, DTMF tone, power on off... all ok.
On desk is nokia 2220 slide, and I check all screen connectors and components arround it, measure voltage drop, but all looks ok. I suspect on slide flex cable, but it look ok and white screen is not interupt while flexing board, pushing conectors, and sliding up down. In attachment...
