Re: Toshiba 48L5463DN no picture, backlight on
Vgh (von), vgl(voff) ?.
Unplug the 2 ribbons that lead to the panel one by one and see if a picture appears on a half screen. Do not switch off with the TV on.Last edited by yokoono; 03-06-2020, 12:50 AM.Leave a comment:

Toshiba 48L5463DN no picture, backlight on
As title says, its a vestel inside. power led flikering red and green 12 times. Backlights comes on at nr 9 red. Nothing burnt or swollen caps. Tried switching to a second hand t-con board from china. Same thing.
Its my first in depth lcd tv repair. So need to figure out what is wrong? Is it the main board?Last edited by Stigsolbjerg; 03-05-2020, 03:54 AM.Tags: None

by triplefourthis tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even... -
by willis6732Hello,
This TV came in for a backlight Repair. I bypassed the Burnt LED as shown in Picture. I thought it was fixed and returned to customer. So I dont have the TV anymore, but customer says its not really watchable.
Now the TV Is much dimmer than before. It does a quick bright flash when it first turns on.
The Driver board looked pretty toasty in the LED Driver Area.
So I am wondering.. how can i Tell if this is a LED or Driver Board Issue?... -
by jaifraicHello,
I have a Toshiba 49U6763DA TV that shows no picture. It turns on, the backlight works, but nothing else. I don't have a remote at the moment to check if this is working.
I have opened the unit, every plug is connected, nothing seems to get hot and all caps look ok. I checked the small caps on the tcon board and the two boards that sit between the tcon and the panel (I don't know what they are called). None of the caps are shorted. The tcon board gets 12V (actually 12.5V) and the fuses are fine.
So I'm thinking that the motherboard is defective... -
by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered... -
by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... - Loading...
