    Sceptre 50" Blackscreen

    Hi All'
    I'm new to the site and not very good at electronics. I have this 50" Sceptre Model E55 .I have no picture but have audio . I want to confirm the audio as I was not there when the TV was taken out of service.(My son said there was Audio)I did try a flashlight test and found screen black with no Menu image. I have Red power light that turns blue when turned on .I removed the back cover and can't see anything Burnt or puffy Caps.Well that's all I have for now. Hoping someone can help steer me to a fix.I bought a new TV so I have time to tinker with this.Here's some Pics to get started.

      Seems like bad Backlights at first reading. Measure the voltages wrt chassis GND. If the Backlights are bad you would get a +ve reading on the +ve LED wire and 0V on the -ve wire.

          Check if you have about 12 volts on each side of the t-con fuse, multimeter if you have one, set at 20 vdc, black probe on metal chassis back red probe on each side, as always BE VERY CAREFUL working aroud powerboard, there are DEADLY voltages on the HOT side, this test is on tcon of course not powerboard.

              I will check the T-con. I have a multi-meter and yes I will be careful. As for wrt I haven't a clue. lol I will look for Threads and stickys for more knowledge info on boards and Abbreviations.

                      Just means put black probe on metal chassis back of tv.

                          So do you get the backlights or not?
                          Your TV has the FRC board (the board between T-CON board and the Main board).
                          I need better and clearer pictures of the boards, the pictures are not clear enough for me to read anything on the boards.

                              Well the wife had me move it for Thanksgiving. She didn't like me using the dining room table for a work bench. I'll probably hold off until after the Holidays. I will have my son take better pictures when I get back to this as my outer lens is smashed on my phone and doesn't focus well. Also no back lights.

                                  I am trying to fix a ideapad c340-15IWL with random blackscreen crashes, after witch the system is completly unresponsive, even on an external monitor. The blackscreens accur completly random no matter the load put on the system. You can sometimes run cinebench succesfully only to have the system blackscreen five minutes later while doing nothing. I have already tried to resolder several chips and have resoldered all contacts of the dimm slot. I have also tried different ram, wifi-card and SSDs, with the same effect.                                   Sceptre 48" TV backlight LED`s

                                  Trying to fix a backlight problem with a Sceptre 48" TV.

                                  I found replacement strips with the same part number as the strips in the Sceptre, but the new backlight strips have 5 leds per strip and the ones in the tv has 6.

                                  So I decided to replace the leds instead. I found 3 bad ones. I had no problem removing the bad ones with a heat gun, they came right out. However the leds on the replacement strip would not come out with heat. I use my solder iron as well, they will not come off.

                                  Anyone know how I can remove those leds without damaging them?

                                  Hello all,

                                  I have a Sceptre X505BV-FMDR8HJ1PE8 tv that had been gradually over time taking longer
                                  and longer to come on, now it will no longer display any image. Original symptoms
                                  are the red standby LED would turn to blue immediately when pressing the power on
                                  button, but there would be a delay for the "SCEPTRE" image to appear on the screen
                                  and backlight to come on. The delay kept getting longer, then it would go from blue
                                  LED back to red. Then when I pressed the power on button again it would bring the
                                  display up and work fine....

                                  BMW M-ASK PL2 blackscreen, no radio,  no Reaktion of DVD eject button!

                                  Hello everyone,

                                  I have a device (BMW CCC Unit), which no longer posts anything also blackscreen.
                                  The unit is getting power, dvd player is spinning but does not eject the DVD when eject Button is being pressed.

                                  Everything seems to be normal on the board ( no short), except „OASIS xs8805b0aq chip „, it is getting hot when the board is turned on.

                                  Does anyone has the datasheet or pinout diagram of that specific IC?

                                  I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
