The current setup has the panel, panel frame, speakers, power supply board , main board and t con board from the UB unit. There is nothing in the TV from the UY with exception to the steel panel that everything screws to. As you can see from the pics - that steel panel is almost identical, the only difference being the area where the tcon board connects as the UY used a shield and the UB didn't.

Ok, so there doesn't appear to be a mismatch, did you test the tcon? there are lots of test points. post 13.

Do you think maybe the backlight configuration is different?

Both sets use the same LED strips, the only reason I did the swap the way I did.

The unit has been running for about 6 hours now - without issue. I will check tcon voltages if it acts up again.

Ok, I thought it was acting up again, the ground and or update must have done the trick.

If I am going swap something, I.E.difference year models, I would find out if the panel is the same model or not, if not I would look up LCD panel spec to make sure the LVDS connector pin out match, check the Voltage and current draw spec, LED drive Voltage and current, check mechanical mounting for all the boards, etc. That is just the way I do thing, verify and verify, and verify.
