    Sony KDL37S5600 power error

Hi, a friend has brought me the a sony kdl37s5600 motherboard, which has the problem of 5 pulses blinking red led. Thinking that the issue could be the power supply, I've tested the board with my supply, having the same response.
I've tested all the voltages(supply and dc-dc converters) and all are good at the beginning(because during the red led blinking the voltages disappear).
In my test conditions i dont have the tcon, so i'm testing the motherboard without it.
I've thought that the problem will be in my friend's tcon, because if this board has a test voltage which it's measured by the motherboard and it isn't present it will give an error, that is the same error that I've testing the motherboard without tcon.
I don't have found the schematic to check other poer on voltages, but i think they'll be present.
    Thanks a lot,
    Waiting your responses.

Search for service manual not schematic.
The LED flashing 5 times is a NVM error.

I've tried to enter the TT menu, because i've seen in the manual that i can enter the number 41 to restart the NVM, but i can't do that, i've pressed the three keys to enter the mode during 5 seconds and the red key 2 times before pressing 41, without having any response.
I've tested if the TV responds to the power off pulse of the remote control but it doesn't respond, and I think that the blocking status of it doesn't allow to enter that menu.
I also cannot see anything on the screen because i don't have the t-con.
      Thanks a lot.

Would probably be a lot easier to troubleshoot if you had the whole tv.

With the whole tv I have the same response, it seems that the operating system is fully locked, and it doesn't respond to the remote signal.
I have thought two alternatives: or search for the NVM memory and replace it (I don't know where it is located, the component name) or search for a new motherboard.
          What do you think?

Both the Nand and repair service are available on eBay in your country.

Try this test, with tv unplugged from mains, unplug cable from powerboard to mainboard, plug mains back in, what if anything is displayed?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                by PantherDave
                Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                Replaced emmc.

Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on
                by PopsCaps
I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on. The indicator flashes red 3 times.
I do not hear any sound and I cannot see any backlight.
I have tried disconnecting every cable on each board one at a time to see if anything changes.
The only change is when I disconnect AC-DET cable on the Power Supply board or on the other end if I unplug the CN7009 connection on the B-Board and try to power on the TV the indicator will stay on solid green until I power off.
My friend ordered another used power supply board but it is also doing the red indicator flash 3 times...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
