    Vizio E48u-D0

I picked up this tv for next to nothing today. Everything seems to work good except the backlight. It flashes on and off repeatedly until I pull up the menu, then it’s fine. I’ve noticed the SmartCast app on my iPhone allows me to adjust the backlight. I figured out as long as I keep it lower than 60 it seems to work perfectly. If I go past 60 the flashing starts again. I updated to the latest firmware hoping that would fix it but obviously it didn’t. I also noticed what appears to be dried syrup from a spilled drink on the power supply. I cleaned it up as best as I could but it had no effect on the flashing problem. I’m thinking it’s either a bad led strip or the power supply has issues. Your thoughts?

If you can turn the backlights level down and the backlights stay on longer then I suspect the LED's or the inter connectors issue.
Please up load good clear pictures of the back of the TV showing all the boards.

Seems like typical weak/bad led/s, you could run the backlights as low as possible, that gives you an acceptable picture, might last quite a while like that.

Vizio SmartCast TV software bug that looks like hardware
            by howardc64
Bug looks like hardware so thought I posted it here. Exact same behavior on 2 different model 4K Vizio TVs running their SmartCast smarttv software. After launching youtube app, press vizio button on remote to return to the smarttv menu, once in awhile, a column of bad pixels will show for few seconds on the left hand side.

It seems the vizio software is reinitializing hardware when returning to the smarttv menu. In general, SmartCast software isn't very good. Also will randomly (relatively infrequent) get no network connection when on wifi and require reboot....

Vizio E701i-A3 Vizio logo flashing then turns off
            by Super360
Ok so here's the story. I was watching tv one day when all of a sudden I heard a pop from the back of the tv set and rushed to unplug the set. By this time the tv already had smoke coming out the back. It was not storming or inclement weather that day to cause a power surge to the best of my abilities. When I opened the tv up, I found that the three capacitors on the psu (highlighted in red) were all bulging and looked they had exploded. I replaced all of them right away and when I went to start up the tv after the "fix" it started just showing the flashing vizio logo as soon as power...

Elitebooks (820, 840 etc. all gens) and those continuously flashing Power LED + flashing CapsLock LED
            by STKR123
As the Elitebooks (820, 840 all gens) only show flashing Power LED and flashing CapsLock (continuously) + a very soft "ticking" noise near the DC Jack,
I wonder if re-flashing the BIOS might be of any use here.

As far as I understood, steady flashing either means insufficient power or a CPU/GPU/Motherboard issue. I use the original 65watt power supply.

There are so many threads out there, but most of the solutions involve flashing codes, which I dont have or claim that you MUST use the original power supply, do a hard reset, reseat the RAM, clean the RAM,...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
            by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Assuming...
