LG 49UJ701V (Display Problem)

hi guys I have the above tv,


I've now got a problem with after a year of use the screen is now garbled then normal and then garbled but the top is perfect.

the tab bonds are at the bottom of the tv I have checked by pressing on them lightly to see if the symptom changes but sadly it don't,

ive noticed the tcon is all part of the mainboard on this TV,

could it be the tcon has failed ?

as if I disconnect one side of the panel I get a perfect picture and a grey screen on the side disconnected.

but if I disconnect the working side of the panel and then leave the opposite side connected I just get a black screen on the half nothing else.

one by one do folowing
1- send command IN-Stop to reset the TV , use android apk with any mobile built in IR sender ( we post it over here many time at LG posts )

2- clean the LVDS and reset it then check

3- use pressure from the TOP on the Main Board and check

It looks like Gate drive problem in the panel.

its look disruption from right side tap. but let hope first with first test i mentioned

please upload whole photo of the tv boards at back side.

Hi jasonr2000:

Could be a panel problem.

I have a 50" LG LED TV model 50LN5700. The TV works but has a similar fault as yours (good image on top 2/3s of screen and double vision on lower 1/3).

The boards work properly with a different (good) panel.

The (bad) panel produces the same problem with different (good) boards from another TV.

My panel problem is permanent and does not flicker or change over time.

Your problem may be fixable if you can find out what part is intermittent.

I'm not saying your problem is the panel for sure, but on my TV with similar issue it is the panel.

Try turning backlights down if possible, see if your double image gets any better.

The "cut tape" method might get you a good image.

hi guys thanks for the reply

all of what Diah suggested didn't make a difference,

also its not the backlight that seems to be the issue here,

I've adjusted that and no change to the image,

what else would you guys suggest I try ?

as I know on the side of the display panel there is no side bond tabs at all.

UHD panel had on side taps. and yours T_con on the down side TAP start with left side when u stand facing the panel

UHD panel had on side taps. and yours T_con on the down side TAP start with left side when u stand facing the panel

well i don't believe on repair by cutting taps bond.. but you can start as i read over here.. the side which you disconnected and got perfect half picture. try to cover the first 4 line with thin type from left of the LVDS at panel side then set it in place. hope u will have the disruption out from screen

I've nothing to lose as the tv is not in warranty no longer,

i think yours discounted LVDS you did it from MB side... you need to reset them from Panel side too

hi Diah I have reseted them both sides cleaned them with isopropyl alcohol and made no difference although as I've said previous,


if I disconnect the one side I get a perfect picture and if I disconnect just the other side I get a black screen,

im going to try the tape trick and see how it goes (im sure it can't get any worse)

hi again,


I have tried the tape fix got a picture of a normal variety but I've noticed now the colour is off on the left side of the screen where the fault existed

I've taken a photo but I dunno if it will come out or not,
