    Led Vs Lcd durability?

There are info that Led Tv will last longer then LCD, that maybe true for some techs , but i've seen more led tvs on the curve that have no repair than LCD that most have repair, besides a LCD display can take a lot more abuse then LED,so for me LCD is better then LEDS.

Most of my LCD are ccfl/eefl tubes, lcd liquid crystal display, well i posted about this because my LCd laptop fell off the table on the floor and i doubt. if it was a led display would survive.

yes laptop ccfl tubes are so thin break easy ive replaced a couple now, my niece has just done the same with her dell laptop (tripped over charger cord) that certainly needs a new screen its about £60.00 cheapest on ebay their not cheap for a 17in screen.

When i picked it up from the floor i though it was doomed also, if the CCFFL tube easily brakes, well not on this one ,it still going strong

We are talking about LCD panels that use LED backlights, correct?
When the TV's with LED backlights come on the market, they mislead the consumers by calling it LED TV's.
That is still going on today:

hi budm, yes most of the new sold displays today are LCD edge Led, my lcd displays are lcd TFT active matrix,,my opinion is no way these new lcd Led can take the abuse of the old lcd tech, and before LCD the tube were the big winners of them all on abuse.

led fail because of over current caused by initial settings and idiots expecting to last longer at those settings . well thats what i think about it . . unlikely to break by shock but running on the edge unless you turn the current down to a reasonable level . ccfl have lasted many years for me .

ccfl beats led for reliability hands down, have 4 from around 2007 going strong.

Agree and i have to mention that it's ridiculous how many led displays show on the side of the road with all the boards intact and crackled screens, these led displays are not kids friendly that throw stuff around and a small hit on display there it goes to the dumpster, compared to LCD CCFL that i see on the curve all full of deep scratch and still good display,i can't believe the greed these led tv companies do not put a protect glass on front of the led display,

The LCD panel is what gets broken, It does not have anything to do with what type of backlight it has. ccfl or led or candle for that matter will still crack if hit.

                            Hello friends,

Its been a while, i wish you an happy new year 2025 !

I have this laptop doesn't start, power light up a second when pluging USB-C charger.
                            Laptop take 0.11A.
All signals and voltages before SLP_S4# are OK but no SLP_S4# , S3...

I get no oscilation on XTAL 32.768 KHZ
Battery is not charging but charging led is here.
PCH heat at 30° approximatively. (with no heatsink)

I think this crystal might be dead, i have only boardview giving me this: XTAL 32.768KHZ 12.5PF/20PPM.
                            It's a 2 pins Crystal.

                            HI,

I'm looking to replace the 27MHz crystal on this board as it isn't generating the signal. I thought it would be easy to identify a suitable replacement as there are clear markings on the crystal, but it appears I was wrong as Google gives nothing. Bad photo attached, but it has X27.0000 and 16AP1 on the casing. It appears to be a 3225 package, but looking through suppliers there are lots of different things like capacitance, tolerance, active or passive, etc. that need to be considered. Could anyone help identify a suitable replacement please?

                            Thanks....

Question on microprocessor crystal oscillator circuit
                            by Keshenatech1
I'm troubleshooting a reel controller board for an IGT slot machine. The digital section seems to be dead. There is no USB communication, PC or utility program for flashing firmware do not see it but they do see good/working boards. I noticed the waveform on the crystal is very erratic/asymmetrical/glitchy on the bad one compared to the nice even waveform on a good board. My question is would this most likely be caused by a bad crystal or something gone bad in the circuit loading it down? I'm attaching a couple pictures of my scope probing the good and bad boads.

Hi, I'm currently trying to diagnose a Gainward RTX 3060 12GB "Pegasus" that I bought as damaged. I know nothing of its prior history.

A boardview for an MSI model, which matches the board layout apart from some resistor values I saw, was already uploaded in the past if you'd like to have a look (I used file V397_70). See www.badcaps.net/filedata/fetch?id=2101580

It does not have any shorts but it's not detected by the system (i.e. not even shows up in the output of lspci and the CS pin of the Flash chip is never accessed, so apparently the GPU does not boot.....
