Hello,
what is DSG???
check résistance to ground after PQB01 and on PRB03
If you find a short to ground, inject 1v on the shorted line and Check if something is getting hot.
Ps: did you replace hp power supply With your bench power supply? That may cause PQB01 to Die and Die and Die…
I suggest to never plug bench power supply when original ac adapter shut off automaticly for Safety reason....

Just to be clear, never jump caps and generally never jump any component or at least think twice before doing This. (For example if you jump a burnt fuse and there is still a short, you Will do hume damage!)
Caps are often attached to ground on one side and current is not supposed to pass through. caps are open component so the current don't pass to ground through the caps (exept when they are failing, in that case the circuit is connected to ground and that's why you have a short to ground)
On each Line all component are connected together, so if one caps is failing...Last edited by pc_okay; 04-08-2025, 02:26 PM.

Sorry to say that but reflowing Will not work in your case.
Reflowing Works only when chip has Bad solder: symptôms are black screen, laptop can’t start Without ram or loose ram. (Maybe freeze too)
When you have random bsod or memtest error you need to replace Bad chip if you can identify them.
or replace all if you can’t identify culprit.
if you can’t do that by yourself you better find a Good Repair shop or take some training class.
good luck 😊

G703GXR Dead CPU? shorted CPU power mofset replace, missing DRAMRST#
Hello friends,
I replace a shorted mofset (PU8104), now laptop is starting but no display, stopping at DRAMRST#.
Resistance to ground on PL8104 is around 1-2 ohm, quite low but voltage seems ok 0.995V
Any help would be appreciated it's a nice laptop !
Thanks. 😃

Why not injecting low voltage like 0.8v on the shunt resistor and look if something is heating?
if you dont want to take any risk, You can search the same résistance (10ohms) on all coils.
You may have a shorted high mofset connecting directly the main power rail to a secondary circuit.
like chipset / cpu / ram… by the way try without ram to see if résistance rise on the shunt resistor…...

Maybe battery is not compatible With your new MB.
I m pretty sure that a battery can’t create memory error.
it can’t create blue sceen yes, but related to power or ACPI, and Of course unexpected shutdown, maybe freeze.
But try again you Intel board without battery we Will see.

Hello don’t burn your brain for This,
if laptop work try LENOVO Hardware Diagnostic F10, it may be more accurate.
If not just change chips until it works and hope to be lucky !
ps: I don’t think cold spray Will help you in that case. you may use it only to locale short because short attract current and when a lot Of current pass in a component it heat.
good luck 😊

Hello,
maybe Q7220 is dead, shorting VIN and VSW.
without power, Check résistance between pin 1 & 6-7-8....

Hello,
I think your mofset is fine.
If you take out the battery and maybe cmos battery, that's normal laptop start automaticly.
Gpu Line have a very low résistance near 0ohm.
check ram, edp câble, are well plugged. (Test With one stick Of ram / one slot after another…
be patient, post can be very long after removing battery
You can try With hdmi without edp câble (don't Forget to plug out battery before touching edp câble)
send more photos of D.C. jack area to see if everything is in the right place

Nop that piece Of crap need the right exact one chip. Thanks again Apple!
Same board & same position on the donor board.
you can source it from AliEx for exemple With some luck chip Will be Working.

Check Amp meter without battery.
Please give us motherboard Number to look for schematic or BV.

Hello,
Please find a pretty similar schematic/boardview, just uploaded:

And yes you have a problem on IC powering.
You may check diodes on DC-IN line.

check voltage before and after diodes
check diodes in diode mode both side with multimeter without power
Check for short before and after diodes
Hello,...

HP 14-DY shematic & BV Wistron SLINKY 203032
Hello
Schematic and BV for HP 11th board Wistron SLINKY 203032.
Have a nice day!...

Sorry but RST# signals are a Little confusing.
RST# signal should not stay enable (low state) for a long Time, they have to rise up immediatly after resetiing what they have to.
There is a # to say « reset active position is low » but signal can't stay in reset position.
Mb chip just need a fast reset not a continous reset, just like when you press a power/reset button, you don't press the button for an hour or you computer Will restart continuously
So your results are weird, APU_RST# is ok but other signals at 0v are not, double Check please.
Crystal...
