Sorry SMDFlea for the mistake.
I tried several bios from this topic with no success: i was getting stuck before SLP_S4.
So finally i reflash with the original crashed bios i backed up, laptop restore itself, then it restart properly. I saved this bios, just in case...
I restarted the laptop several time but it crashed again soon...., so i took the last backup i did and tried FIT again.
This time it worked and i could clean ME.
Laptop is now working fine.Leave a comment:

I have not the same board (LA-L151P REV 2B) but similar component (UT9, proximity to type C port) and different marking : 5BB1U
Component is shorted to ground on many legs.
Any ideas what is it?

Hi Sephir0th ,
You were right ! The 1 ohm resistor was bad (~~10 ohm reading offboard) replacing it solve the case ! (get 5V at VCC1, VCORE ok and laptop start)
I didn't think 0.5v was relevant.... i'll rembember this !

First, best wishes for 2026 !
I have a laptop with no VRM voltage, all other voltage looks good, GPU is heating (normaly i think).
Resistance to ground of CPU coil is around 2.2 ohm.. quite low isn't it?
I also notice a weird reaction of the board, i have to plug in / plug out many time dc before laptop start (if i dont do this, board is stuck just before 3VADSW_ON)
I have :
ALL_SYSTEM_PWRGD
P_IMVP8_EN_10 at 3.3v
VCC at 4.5V
Do you think cpu is dead?
Any suggestion please? 😀

I have a laptop working fine when is on windows untill it's shutdown.
Super long boot when i finally get an image, (sometime no image) i have Me Error on top of the screen on POST.
I try to clean this bios without success, FIT give me error :
Error 31: Failed to decompose Full Image.
Error 11: Failed to open with processed commands.
Can you help me with this bios?

Is it possible to read DMI information from DELL BIOS?
I open it with HxD but i can't even find the service tag inside ! (read from the bottom of the machine : 11R2T93)
I'm looking for the UUID actually...
Is DELL bios encrypted or i'm missing something?

Same here, got like 6 or 7 ASUS laptops like this for last two weeks.
You don't need to reflash, just play in the bios, last one work after deleting all secure boot keys.
Sometimes it work after restarting without any hard drive /DVD.
I don't get exactly what fix it for now....

There is no schematic or boardview for this board.

what is DSG???
check résistance to ground after PQB01​ and on PRB03
If you find a short to ground, inject 1v on the shorted line and Check if something is getting hot.
Ps: did you replace hp power supply With your bench power supply? That may cause PQB01 to Die and Die and Die…
I suggest to never plug bench power supply when original ac adapter shut off automaticly for Safety reason....Leave a comment:

Just to be clear, never jump caps and generally never jump any component or at least think twice before doing This. (For example if you jump a burnt fuse and there is still a short, you Will do hume damage!)
Caps are often attached to ground on one side and current is not supposed to pass through. caps are open component so the current don't pass to ground through the caps (exept when they are failing, in that case the circuit is connected to ground and that's why you have a short to ground)

Sorry to say that but reflowing Will not work in your case.
Reflowing Works only when chip has Bad solder: symptôms are black screen, laptop can’t start Without ram or loose ram. (Maybe freeze too)
When you have random bsod or memtest error you need to replace Bad chip if you can identify them.
or replace all if you can’t identify culprit.
if you can’t do that by yourself you better find a Good Repair shop or take some training class.

G703GXR Dead CPU? shorted CPU power mofset replace, missing DRAMRST#
Hello friends,
I replace a shorted mofset (PU8104), now laptop is starting but no display, stopping at DRAMRST#.
Resistance to ground on PL8104 is around 1-2 ohm, quite low but voltage seems ok 0.995V
Any help would be appreciated it's a nice laptop !

Why not injecting low voltage like 0.8v on the shunt resistor and look if something is heating?
if you dont want to take any risk, You can search the same résistance (10ohms) on all coils.
You may have a shorted high mofset connecting directly the main power rail to a secondary circuit.
like chipset / cpu / ram… by the way try without ram to see if résistance rise on the shunt resistor…...Leave a comment:
