flikery picture with hissing sound when bright only

    Hello guys

I just replaced my faulty FBT with a brand new chinese one for my LG 29" RT-29FB75VE CRT TV

the replacement was not the exact model but it has same pin assignment and voltages

The tv worked perfectly with same exact super quality/contrast image
but I noticed that the image does flicker noticeably WITH a hissing sound from the FBT only when there is a very bright image is displayed or a sudden brightness like explosions in a movie or something

if I drop down the contrast/brightness from the menu (still nice picture) that issue never happens

    the FBT replacement is a BSC26 - N2137 (6174V 5003Z)
my original FBT is 6174V 5003R

    what does that issue mean?
    Thanks

Crap replacement flyback, try and find an original. This problem has been around for years. In a lot of cases the cheap replacements just do not work correctly. Higher brightness means more current has to be supplied by the flyback.

Thank you very much for your replies

What killed the original: I dont know, but it arced after about 14 years of use, so it has to be replaced

Those replacements are not made to the same spec. as original, but it could be that you got a poorly made one. If you can have it replaced with another one or have it replaced with another brand it might work better.
I have had replacements for Hitachi that did not work (narrow picture, poor hv regulation) I ordered an original and it worked perfect. I have also used those $10.00 transformers in some Sony's and they worked ok.

Turn the SCREEN control on the FBT to the bare minimum to see a picture

Re: flikery picture with hissing sound when bright only

Like I said, I lowered the brightness/contrast just a little (still have a great bright picture) and this issue does not show anymore

I am very happy with the picture at the moment, I have also glued a 12cm fan in front of the FBT/Heatsink around it in an attempt to keep it for a longer time

that fan is inside the cabinet and controlled via a switch outside, powered with a dc adapter, it helped lower the overall heat in that area

I just want to know, would that FBT live for some years or that issue is a sign of a soon failure?

it has been about 5 days now of work

it could also be a failing B+ capacitor that smooths the power to the transformer.

Mabe not in that case because that never happened before with the original FBT

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
                      by TR103
                      Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                      - sound and backlight, but no picture
                      - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                      - it keeps rebooting
                      - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                      - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                      - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                      - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                      by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

Philips 243v5lhsb00 Monitor Picture too bright
                      by Schwoin
                      Hey everyone,

the picture on my philips monitor looks way too bright so that black appears grey and colors also seem too bright.

While i tried to tilt the screen a little bit while it was displaying a picture, i´ve noticed, that there appeared some purple pixels. In the following picture
you can see them on the top half of the photo.

At a certain point during the tilting, the picture looked normal again but as soon as i laid it back down, the purple pixels were gone and the picture was bright again.

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
                      by Ierwin
                      Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

Samsung UN70NU6900F no picture and no sound
                      by jchang
                      Hi all

I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.

                      Symptom:
                      No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
                      No sound at all.

                      What I tried:
                      1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon...
