Yes...at this point we need photos.

I took the outer cover off and these are what I found. Is this what I'm looking for? Two different boards and are attached to the panel on numerous ribbon cables.

those are the bottom boards. You need to find out what on the sides... you need to remove the bezel to look at that area.

I removed the front trim bezel and there are no boards on either side of the tv that I can see. You can see in the picture of me pulling the screen away from the set. The other pic is showing the spot on the screen that is causing the issue. Looks like maybe something inside the panel exploded?

I see the screen is made by TPV. Here is a picture of the info. What is the model number? I was going to do a quick search to see if I could find a good used panel before threw the TV away.

I am sorry, this won't be repairable.
That is some physical damage, possibly from a short inside the panel.
That's why I suggested earlier to turn the tv on without tcon, that way you would have been able to see that defect, and could spare yourself from disassembling the set. At this point, you would need a great luck to find a tv with bad backlight/electronics with the same (but working) display.
I would sell the boards and get a few dollars back for my lost time.

Edit: On your last picture, the display type is hidden under the black plastic, ends with U01, but I can't figure out the first few letters/numbers.

No worries I kinda figured it was a goner. You couldn't see the damage to the screen until I removed the plastic bezel. It was hidden underneath.

                  Re: Vizio M50-C1 no picture

Does anyone have schematics for any of the boards in the Vizio M50-C1? I have a "no picture" issue, which seems to be common. However, in my case the display never seems to come on. I can see a blue-ish LED on located on just behind the Ethernet connector. Checking power on the power supply board seems to show some odd values. On CN9101 when the power is expected to be off seem to have 5v as expected, but the 12v lines are reading around 19.1. That seems to suggest PS board issue, but I'm not convinced yet.

                  Thoughts?

VIZIO E70-E3 Half picture with half TCON
                      by Fly_Among_Stars
                      Hi,
                      I have a VIZIO E70-E3.
Symptoms: Black screen, no picture, but LED backlights are working.
I probed the power board and voltages are as listed on the board.
                      Main board appears fine, too.
I believe the problem is either a bad T-CON board, or connection to LCD, or bad LCD.
There are two separate ribbon cables feeding the LCD.
If both are connected, the screen is black.

If only the ribbon cable that feeds the right side of the screen (when viewed from the front) is disconnected, the left side of the screen shows picture and...

Vizio M65-E0 No Picture, No Sound
                      by ggil44
Hi I inherited a Vizio M65-E0 that isn't working. It must have been dropped on the corner because I found that the infrared circuit had a capacitor with one end broken off of the board and some green corrosion around the plug to the main board. I re-soldered the capacitor and cleaned the corrosion well and tried turning the M65-E0 on and I was successful. My problem is that while the back lights come on and appear to perform local dimming there is no picture or sound. It kind of looks like you are looking at the TV through a very dense fog, where changing the input on the remote will change bright...

                      HI all,
hope someone point to the possible issue before I start buying replacement parts.
Tv starts normal and responds to remote fine, PSU voltages mesured fine 19v was 18.9V under load and 19V with main board disconnected.
Backlight stays on all the time,
                      Sound works fine.
screen keeps changing form black to full picture in about 1sec intervals.
Picture looks fine with no visible artifacts.
I have disconnected backlights and flashlight test confirmed that picture is still doing the same.

Disconnecting left and right ribbons on...

                      by jason123
                      Hello,
Help is much appreciated as I don't have any experience with this model TV.

Picked it up and it was smoking in the back when powered.
Open opening the LED Driver board was charred (see last photo.)

I noticed some blown caps on the Power board as well.

Replaced the LED driver board, and bad caps on Power supply.

Voltages on CN301 (upper power supply connector to LED driver board)
                      X000017 - All 24.39V
                      GND - 0.001
                      OD - 0.015
VSNS - 0.009 (does that imply bad backlight or bad LED Driver?)

Samsung LCD TV no picture backlight on no 12v at tcon
                      by shelby5041
                      hi
i have a samsung lcd tv

it powers on with sound and backlight but no picture

all voltages from PS are good 12v 3.3v and 5v

whats odd is that at the tcon i tested voltage across the fuse on the tcon and i get 0v

i figured main board issue..so i ordered a used main board....when i put replacement main board in i still have same issue

no 12v at the tcon fuse

i disconnect the panel ribbon cables to rule out any panel issues and i still have no 12v at the tcon fuse

                      the odds of having 2...
