    2011 Panasonic TC-P50GT30 7 Blinks Help

    Hello all.

My Panasonic Plasma is on its 2nd 7 blinks error. I fixed it the first time using a repair kit for ShopJimmy. Well its back 1.5 years later. Was SC board so bought a used SC board off ebay. Replaced and got same 7 blinks. The green LED on the SC board never lit up. Unhooked SC from buffer boards SD and SU and removed grounding screws connecting SC to bufferboards and shorted SC50 and still 7 blinks. So now I am assuming the SC board I was sent was bad. To see if the TV would just stay on I unhooked the power and ribbon cable from the SC board and turned it on. I get 8 blinks. From my research I see most 8 blink errors mean the SS board is shorted. Is this true?

I also used a multimeter set to check continuity and checked the ribbon connections on the buffer boards SD and SU. No beeps and was getting a reading of .800 and lower. From research again this tells me the buffer boards are okay. Is this also correct?

I have a 42" Panasonic TC-P42ST30 in the basement we don't use much. Does anyone know off hand if I could "borrow" parts off that to see if I can't figure out the issue. I can open up the back and check if need be but just wanted to save some time.

    Thanks for the help!

Use your meter in beep mode and check the sc and ss power connections for a short. A beep longer than 2 seconds means short. And no you can't use anything from the 42" to diagnose.

      Thanks tvtimmy.

I checked for shorts on the power connections on ss and sc board and there were none. I check all the wires from the P board to the sc and ss board and all wires were good.

I did make a little progress. When I turn the tv on I can now hear a buzz and the green LED on the SC board will light up only for a second then a click and then the 7 blinks comes back. Any idea on what is causing that?

      Thanks!

Also removed all three connections between SC and the SU and SD boards (SC41, SC42, and SC46). Removed the 4 VFG screws between the boards and jumped SC50. Fired it up and get 6 blinks.

6 blinks after replacing the FETS is usually a DG302 on the SC board or the driver chip. ( IC501 ). DG302 will probably not read short but it is wise to replace it.

When SS board fails it is usually the Q201 close to the blue cap. Read it in diode mode over the 2 pins. Beep is bad.

Make sure all screws are tight also.

              by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
              by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
              by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...

Panasonic P50VT20B Plasma 12 Blinks, Power Supply or A-Board?
              by Biruslapio
Hello, I've had this TV for 3 years, 2 years ago it stopped working signaling 12 Blinks, SOUND_SOS according to the service manual.

It has no VSUS or VDAT, and P15V has 1.0V instead, the same 15V goes to A board. F15V is ok and other main voltage rails.

It seems the power supply is defective, since unplugging D20 ribbon cable that goes from D-board to SC-board makes the behavior change, the TV stays on, there's no image nor VSUS, but 15V reads 2.4V, high enough to not trip the SOS 12 blinks, so it stays on, fans do not spin but I left it 2 hours, green led lit up...
