I would indeed use suction cups.

Using LED backlight tester to apply voltage to my Insigna NS-55d420NA16, I get 331 volts on the tester. The power supply was disconnected. None of the LED's light. Is the wire between the power supply connector and the first LED strip open?

You have open circuit, I.E. broken wire/s, LED, connector/s between LED strips.

I fixed mine. It had two failed LEDs, one of them burned in a way it damaged the traces on the led strip so it had open circuit.

I found one the LED's was open. When I tried to remove the bad led with a hot plate. The LED broke into parts. The part that was soldered to the smaller pad did not want to unsolder because the connection to board foil are via a plated thru hole and trace. Only 3 of the 11 strips were without bad LEDs. I replaced all of the strips with new ones. When I put everything back together without the back, I got a great picture. I next installed the back and base. When I set the TV on a stand, I powered the TV back on I had a crack in the screen. I don't know if the crack happened after installing the back or after setting the TV on the stand.

                Did you use suction cups?
I did as recommended above and everything went well.
I also watched shopjimmy's video and identified the suction cup model they use:

I have the same TV with a bad LED strip. I was able to isolate the one bad LED, and I have removed the LED from the PCB. Anyone know where I can find the correct LED for my LED strip so I can fix this strip and get this thing back up and running? LED strip PN: 4C-LB550t-GY2

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                      Assuming...

                      Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Hello, I came here after finding some similar questions asked on other monitors and hope someone here can help me get an ancient Viewsonic VP230mp (23" 4:3 LCD) back to working condition.

First a little background, I have a background in computer and electrical engineering, and I'm smart enough to know I know nothing about LCD displays and how they work. For this topic I'm as green as they come.
When the display is turned on the viewsonic logo displays in the uppper left for 2 seconds then the screen goes black, the power LED is green (on) and when a computer is connected...
