Picked this up put out for collection by dumpsters. Starts OK and all works well just has the verticals on rhs screen (from front) and screen of course suspect. This set has low mounted tcon with strip connectors to panel output board across bottom of screen. That board looks ok. Did the usual cleaning etc but no difference. The other problem I notice is that on rhs there is also an image retention issue. So what do you think is it likely screen or is a tcon change warranted.

Re: TCL L48B2600F vertical lines rhs
image retention or a slow to react area in the screen is a tab bond failure. check and press the tab bonds around the problem area and see what happens. If the tcon is a thin long board on the bottom of the display, they are usually tab bonded right to the LCD. If that's the case, its pretty much game over. You can "shim" the problem tab bond and can get more life out of the TV for quite a while. -

T_CON Bd seems to be suspect. VGL or VGH voltage on T-CON Bd probably low due to bad-cap. What T-CON voltages do you have at Vin, Vdd, Vda, Vgh and Vgl??Comment

Re: TCL L48B2600F vertical lines rhs
Thanks guys I've been distracted but got back to this one and did try flexing etc on panel board but no change so concentrating on tcon first. The gamma voltages read as OK I believe and others are....VAA 15.22, GVON 1.98, VGL -6.09, BIST 2.77, PWMO 3.27, POL2 nil, VDD12 1.19, VCC 12.21, VDD33 3.28, WPGMA nil, SCL SOA both 3.26, STV 0.01, CE 2.26, CKV 1.33, STVR 0.13, TP2 0.22, VCM 6.13, POL1 1.64, HVAA 7.46 and what most of that means I have no idea!!
The gamma points are numbered 1 2 4 6 8 10 11 12 13 15 17 19 21 22 and voltages come down in steps from 14.19 to 0.20 with none out of step.Comment

by Stanley1843Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

by Daren87Hello everyone,
I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the... -
by x_orange90_xJust bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

by Ancient1Hi
Asking for a friend.
I'm used to black vertical line in otherwise good image - probable solution is a rubber to push and tighten the COFs bonding.
but here its the opposite !
TV has new T-con = same issue
A missing panel voltage would have global effect
So , what should one do ? how can I find where the fault is ?
Thanks !... -
by Kambi13Hello all, I'm dealing with a Samsung LE32C530F1W that now has vertical lines on the right side. It started with a ghost image on the top of the screen and then I tried the old trick of masking a few contacts in the flat cable that connects the T-Con board to the screen with some tape. It worked for a while and now out of the blue it turned into what you can see in the pic. I was able to get my hands on a known good T-Con board but the problem still persists. Now, what I've noticed is that the cooper colored flat cables that are directly connected to the screen itself are very hot to the touch...
