Pics are on eBay. I have the 40/40 LED strips so theres a total of 80 LED's on one strip. Have you opened it up to see the LED strips yet? I actually replaced all 4 of my LED strips in it then decided to sell the 3 that were actually working. Mine were all the same amount of LED's on each strip.

Re: Sharp Aquos lc-60le831u question about LED's

So four LED strings with 40 LEDs per string, two strings per one LED assembly, correct?

That's good info to know, thank you for helping us see the light! So one strip has two connectors each feeding 40 LED's? What is the model number of your TV? 831 0r 835? The defective strip, did you check to see if any of the LEDs on it were any good?

I think this is correct budm, I saw these on fleabay last night.

So they all the LED strings have the same amount of LEDs, then I would expect the test result on the FOUR L- to be pretty close to each other but they are not.

So power supply likely OK, LED's probably not? Seems like L2 and L3 are the problem strips?

Ok budm, this is advice I plan to take soon. For now I'm going to put the back back on this one. I think some more experience removing screens is in order first. I'm also going to keep my eyes out for a set for parts.

Thanks budm, and I mean THANKS!

Just one more addition. I used a flashlight and managed to set up local OTA channels and did confirm the display is GOOD!

Also confirmed at the top right of the screen (when looking at it) that one strip of LED's is not illuminating.

You can also try having the L - wire connected one at a time and then turn the TV on to see which one does not give the flash-on backlights.

Its actually 1 strip with 80 total LEDs on EACH strip. If you look at my pictures on "fleabay" you will see that one of them is numbered to 40 and then starts again at 1 and continues to 40.

I would verify if they are the correct strip by matching to the panel model number of yours and the seller.

Thanks budm, I didn't think of that! The only info I had is they interchange with models 831U and 835U.

I'm probably going to look locally for a parts TV. At my experience level it makes no sense to pay $45 for the TV and $80 for LED strips....then break the screen. That way if I do break it I'll have two TV's to part out and be able to recover more $.

I can confirm the length after work.

As to not wanting to pay $80 to fix a 60" Quattron...i'll leave no comment on that

BUT. I will say good luck to you if you try waiting on finding the same TV with the same LED's in it. The person will want at least $50-60 for it from my past 12 years of buying TVs. Why do you say youll break the screen? It's easy to take out with this one... it has its own metal encasing that it sits in, not just the lcd screen itself.

Thank me later... think im dumb now - I dont care either way but unasked for advice is seldom used. I just replaced all the LED strips in my lc-60le831u so I have no idea what i'm doing either lol "without cracking the screen"

I didn't say I wouldn't pay $80 to fix it, I'm just in no hurry. Yours and my TV weren't the only ones made and they're still tearing them up. It may be a needle in a haystack, but I know the needle is in there somewhere.

I could just as easily say your used 5+ year old LED strips with unknown use hours, unknown life left in them and a known history of failure are over-priced....but I'll leave no comment on that. I could also say there aren't many people fixing these anymore and good luck with selling them. They may very well sell tomorrow...but even a blind hog can find an acorn .

It makes more sense to me to pay $80 or even $100 for a parts TV and have a way to make that money back. It's business, not personal, and that broken TV isn't eating a thing. It'll keep just fine.

As for screen removal I will do it when I'm comfortable doing it. Right now I am not. I don't ever call someone dumb, and from someone who's been in sales all his professional life "I don't care either way" isn't generally going to get a handshake and a deal.

You catch a lot more bees with honey and reasonability, you know?

Re: Sharp Aquos lc-60le831u question about LED's

Totally understand about not being in a hurry. Although, I would want to dig in and get my TV fixed (especially being a 60"). But to each his own. In 12-13 years I have only come across 2 of the same TV's within a reasonable time frame. This also depends on how many you buy, etc... I understand about the unknown hours on the LED's too so maybe someone will come out with new LED's for you. I was pricing them LOWER than what other people had them priced at on there. One person has 2 strips for $89 + shipping the entire assembly for a total of around $120-130. Mine are $79.99 with free shipping. All i'm saying is that you may be waiting years, thats all. Just so we're clear - I am in no way trying to sell you my LED strips, I was just trying to be helpful (and in your case, REALISTIC, if you needed to find some). I hope you find the parts TV, get your LED's, fix the TV and come out with experience and knowledge and hopefully be able to tell other people here how you did it and make them comfortable doing it! That's why we're all here! So, with that drama out of the way. I would suggest (coming from someone who has taken out many panels and whos not selling you bs) to either buy a different size broken TV with a cracked screen or something like that (for cheap - $10-15) so you can practice. You may even be able to get something for free. Even if its a CCFL TV and not LED backlit you will still get the same experience taking it out (the LC-60 is just larger, obviously). If I we're looking for a handshake and a deal (and if I cared to get it) I wouldn't have wrote what I wrote. I was making you aware that they were there. Trying to be nice and give you advice from experience. You're talking to someone who already climbed the mountain that you are trying to climb.

Some people aren't looking to catch bees.
