Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone has encountered this problem and found a fix for it. Please help. The TV works as it should except for the constant flickering/strobing/flashing of the picture. Model number PN64E8000. I read that the power supply on these models usually fail, but since I have a picture and the tv responds to the remote, does this mean I have to look elsewhere?

Re: PN64E8000 flickering/strobing/flashing
The power supply does often fail due to cracked solder joints, however an easier step would be to perform a software/firmware update first by connection the TV to the internet either via wifi or ethernet cable. Additionally performing a factory reset could also help.
If it does not take care of your issue, you can try to reflow the power supply. If that does not take care of it however, you could be looking at more issues which would involve more troubleshooting.
Let us know how these first two steps work and if you need more help feel free to message me.
Good luck -
Re: PN64E8000 flickering/strobing/flashing
Thanks for your reply. I thought I'm not going to get any response, hence my delayed communication. Anyway--back to the TV. I had someone do the repair for me, and now the tv is working properly. Thanks again.Comment

by zuehlsI have Samsung UN55ES6150 TS01 tv that has a backlight that flashes/flickers/strobes. I have disconnected the cable between main board and power supply and the backlight stops flashing/flickering/strobing. I checked the voltage on power supply (BN44-00503a) CNL802 pin 4 (R-) and pin 6 (l+) and both are 141v each. It is also steady. If I reattach the cable between main board and power supply and plug in the tv it is steady and good at 141v for about 5-7 seconds and then the screen starts flickering/flashing/strobing and the voltage starts bouncing between 138-142. What is correct voltages on CNL802?...

by STKR123As the Elitebooks (820, 840 all gens) only show flashing Power LED and flashing CapsLock (continuously) + a very soft "ticking" noise near the DC Jack,
I wonder if re-flashing the BIOS might be of any use here.
As far as I understood, steady flashing either means insufficient power or a CPU/GPU/Motherboard issue. I use the original 65watt power supply.
There are so many threads out there, but most of the solutions involve flashing codes, which I dont have or claim that you MUST use the original power supply, do a hard reset, reseat the RAM, clean the RAM,... -
I have a D48-D0 that works on all counts except the backlights flash at a constant frequency of about 3-4 times a second. I used the Voltage measurements as seen in this thread (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...ure-new-boards) to compare mine.
With CN301 unplugged with set on I have about 90VDC
With CN301 plugged in of course the V varies based on the flickering
These pins have 1.86 VDC not the 3.3 as shown here:

by atticus_Hi all,
I dumpster dived a 1440p Dell U2518D screen the other day and figured I'd take a crack at fixing whatever issues it may have. I powered it up to find that even with no signal input the screen flashes rapidly when turned on and has vertical lines across it. I disassembled the monitor and took pictures of the 3 circuit boards inside it along the way.
The three circuit boards are labeled "power board l6256-1m", "LED Driver BD L6257-1". and "Interface Board L6127-1". if anyone has schematics for any of them it would be much appreciated...-

by reessiHello,
The monitor started off showing flickering thin (1 pixel) lines horizontally every say 3mm..
They are black on the right and gradually fade to nothing on the far left.
They start either after 5 mins or up to 2 hours after so annoying for testing.
They flicker continuously very fast! With a slight pause milli-second every second.
Initially I cleaned the LVDS cable and connected to the T-Con and then it worked fine for 3 weeks but not sure if this was just co-incidence.
I tested each half by removing the first the left flex from...-
