after reading some of the other posts, im a little wary of putting money into this tv only to find it also has mainboard issues (which seem real common)
i have a less common problem, where the PSU is not producing enough voltage.
when i first got the tv, it shows the amber light when plugged in, which changes to white when the power button is pushed. then it cycles back and forth between amber and white about 30 times before finally staying solid white for about 5 seconds then back to solid amber.
i took the back off, and disconnected the psu from any other boards, and tricked the pwr-on signal to turn on the board.
the 5vsb is fine at a solid 5v but the 12v is wavering between 9.8v and 10v
and the 18v is waving around 14.8v~15.2v
if i also trick the backlight_on pin, i see the psu going into a resetting condition where the 12v line starts at about 4.5v then falls over 5 seconds or so to 2v, then resets back to 5v
the 18v also does this but from 5v down to 0 and back again
the LEDV+ seems ignorant of this resetting the rest of the psu is doing. it starts at 8v and slowly creeps down to 0v over many many resets.
i actually never watched it go all the way down to 0 cause it takes forever, but thats where its going.
PFC seems fine. 168v when in standby and 400v when turned on.
i can find the PSU on ebay for 60$ and i would be happy to spend 60$ for this tv as it is pretty nice with the 240hz refresh rate and all, but having no idea what else might be wrong has got me thinking twice.
would be nice if i could actually repair a PSU for once!
