If I put a meter on the main board, I get the same fluctuation from the connection coming from the power supply 6V~13V.
Also try just main board and power supply board ONLY without anything else connected to either board.

That is why I suggested to have resistor load connected to the power supply to see if it will be steady or not.

Re: Vizio M65-C1 won't power on

I am having the exact same problem with my TV which is the same model. Here is the link to the bad caps thread I started.

          https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...t=vizio+m65-c1

Also noticed the large caps(See the 4 pic in first thread. bottom 3 caps on hot side)like to hold there charge for some time they do not drain very quickly so just be careful don't want you to get a nasty jolt.

          I have the same issues.
flashing led light on video board.
when video board ribbon is removed I have steady 19 volts in the same locations. with video ribbon in circuit voltages are fluctuating.

I found a shorted mosfet at q911 replaced but still having a issue.
Thank you for the clear pic of IC U911 I will order one of those now.

Budm question that IC U911 which drives that Q911 I have a eeprom reader writer can i heat up IC u911 and save the data and write to a new chip is that possible for the fix for this tv??

The digi key part that they said would work for Q911 which was #K20A20D
            Manufacture Toshiba.

Digi-key said this part below would work as a substitute.
            RCX200N20-ND RCX200N20 MOSFET N-CH 200V 20A TO220

I believe IC 9111 part number is SP6018E instead of 1BE.

Here is the data sheet I found on it.

The power supply readings are still fluctuating with just the power supply and main boards plugged in.

Re: Vizio M65-C1 won't power on

We still need to test the power supply by itself using the load resistor to draw about 1A to see if it will be stable or not with resistor load.
The output may be fluctuating due to main board is over loading the power supply or the power supply cannot put out steady Voltage with load, right now it is steady without load (main board).

Re: Vizio M65-C1 won't power on

How would I go about doing that? Do I need to purchase a resistor? Sorry, all of this restistor talk is completely foreign to me.

I've attached pictures of the boards, courtesy of shopjimmy. Watching some YouTube videos to test the power supply, I wanted to test the standby power voltage. I couldn't find any pins labeled as standby, so I'm assuming it's pins 1 and 2 on the power supply. They are labeled 5V/3.5V.

The only indication that I have power is a constant flashing blue/purple LED401 on the main board anytime I provide power to the TV.

Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm new to TV troubleshooting.
You wouldn't by any chance be willing to sell the extra power supply board you have? Mine finally took a wipe out.

Hey I wanted to update everyone and let you know I was able to repair the power supply by following this YouTube video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fesJGOLurBg

                          Question for the OP:

How did the youtube steps work but not replacing the power supply? Did you fix the power supply with the newer main board or your original?

I ask because I have the same set that turns on, but only to display the Vizio logo for a few seconds. The backlights stay on inside the set for about 30 seconds then off for 7 and it goes like that over and over. It used to startup after doing this for 30-40 minutes but now won't.

I found the same video and opened my set. My issues didn't seem to follow the youtube video in that the diode portion was registering correctly although the resistor did not seem to be registering correctly on my multimeter. Should it also be 8ohms? This is for the R9114.

I ordered this piece but, after weighing the task I decided to punt and get a new power supply completely. It arrived today but I have the same issues.

It's possible my issue is completely unrelated and I may post a new thread about it. I'm willing to attempt to fix the R9114 resisitor BUT I just don't see how that could work if a whole new PS board didn't work.

The replacement power supply did not fix my problem, and I can't explain that. When I saw the YouTube video with the exact same symptoms I figured I would give it a shot and it worked in my scenario. The set is still running great to this day.

Well if the resistor and or diode are ok on the board you did not fix, then it's a different issue no doubt.
