Samsung LN37A450 screen washed out

Hi

Just got this tv today free

Powers on fine and everything seems to work but the image is real real light

The image detail is great....but is so light you can barely see it

Im thinking its a bad lcd panel

I have not opened back of tv yet

The screen is very bright...backlight is fine.....

I posted a screenshot i got from youtube...very similar to my issue,...and his was a samsung lcd also

From my brief research this seems to be a common tcon issue with this model tv,,but when i opened tv i visually see 4 bulged caps on ps

Not sure if this has anything to do with my issue?

First thing is to replace the known bad caps, some of the caps may also look normal but it does not mean they are good.
Then we need pictures of the T-CON board, that image looks like bad GAMMA Voltages.

Yes gamma voltages on tcon came up on my research from an older thread in here

Samsung tvs known to have junk caps...i will replace the visually bad ones....even though it prob has nothing tomdo with my issue

I ordered a tcon just now...for only $10 shipped

Yes very common fault AS15 chip most likely gone

You can either replace yourself if you have the right equipment and skill level

Or find someone offering a AS15 repair service on ebay etc

fyi im not looking to replace a multi pin chip...i dont have proper equip....just wanted advice on what board causing issue...it seems its a common tcon issue in whichi ordered a tcon board already

Installed replacement tcon...tv works good now

I have not changed the bad caps but will do before i put back on tv

The caps have obviously nothing to do with my issue i had....but will be another issue soon..
