The fpc connector is broken, where it connects from the tcon to the lcd panel source board, so it will not secure the ribbon cable in properly. I don't want to trash this tv as screen is fine but the board this ribbon cable attaches to secures directly to the panel. Pls see pics for more info. What tips does anyone have to fix this.
pin 4 and 5 on the ribbon cable from the left appear to be too close together, could someone pls verify if this is the case?

I've used a thin piece of plastic in the slot over/under (depending on pin location) the cable to provide extra force to ensure a good contact.
The pin spacing looks slightly off, but the photo is blurred and you have the original in front of you, perhaps that part of the track has become unattached from the back.
Buy a cheap $1 microscope to help you see the details.

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)
        by Tr0ll
Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

        Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

        First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

        xps 9520 ribbon cable
        by zesko
        Hello,
I have a XPS 9520 with broken daughter board and missing ribbon cable. I can fix the board by replacing the connector, but I can't find the correct ribbon.

There is 2 models, idk which one is needed on my laptop.

        0xkvng
        00vpr2

Daughter board is LS H822P. When I check for a palmrest, the board attached to have a 0xkvng ribbon. But when I check for LS h822p, it's 00vpr2 ribbon...

Someone can help me with that please ? Idk the difference between these 2 ribbon but they definitely doesn't look the same..

        thanks...

        Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Need a replacement ribbon cable DELL Latitude E5470
        by lowpost99@gmail.com
Anyone know if the ribbon cables are standard across laptops cases like in a PC, or are they proprietary to each manufacturer? I damaged the one that runs between the MB and the power / HDD / Battery Status Indicator LED Circuit Board. The Dell SKU/DPN: ADM70LED. I just need help finding a replacement. Could I possibly use a similar cable from a donor laptop?

Samsung UN65TU8000 - Panel Issue [ hole in ribbon cable ]
        by NWArkGuy
Well, I will be the first to admit that I screwed up...

In attempting to replace the backlight in a UN65TU8000, I made a hole through one of the ribbon cables between the board that runs along the bottom of the back of the TV and the panel. This lead to a between a 1/4 to 1/2 inch vertical stripe running the full height of the image.

I don't have the experience; personally, to solder a bridging wire for the paths that were cut. So, I have been on the hunt for other Samsung TV's of similar size.

I have 2 that I have found and have in my possession. ...
