Soniq L32V12A 32" LCD - Flickering Screen - when cold

    Hi

So my out laws have had this LCD for several years now.
It was given to me as it wasn't turning on, ie: it would get the Soniq tune, but no picture.
I found the SMD fuse on the TCON board was intermittent/open, so replaced that, and we now get a picture. However, the picture is not constant....at least, not until we've warmed up.

When the machine is cold, its unstable and the picture flickers.....when its warm, its solid and on, no issues.

It has the infamous 1117 SM regulators, however, they seem to be doing a good job and working fine, ie: those with 5V supply give a 3.4V constant and the one with a 3.4v supply gives a 1.898v supply.

Theres a couple of previous posts about the ribbon cables not being the best and sure, when you move them hot OR cold the picture flickers. But when left alone, all is well.

I'm leaning towards caps/filtering supply issues which don't come good until they have warmed up. Whats folks thoughts here? Is my diagnosis on the right track?

    Thanks in advance,

Not my favourite set for sure however possibly a dry joint so selective heat treatment at switch on may pin point the problem area. Hair dryer thru small funnel or the like on these small boards.

You should not get flicker when moving cables
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

Dskall correct and with bad fuse on t-con the set may be telling us something.

thanks vinceroger. i've flashed the firmware and the energy saving mode is off. ironically i've just powered it up and was running with no flickering at all. now its started flickering after about 3 minutes of being powered on.

dskall ; yes ; i've seen that video with dave. thats the exact model of flamin TV mate that i have ere. i replaced that stupid fuse as well with the exact same one i ordered from element14 here. i'll try that with the TCON and ribbon cable, i do agree with him the connection into the TCON board is pretty shithouse.

as it stands the thing has an entirely blank screen at the moment. grrr.

ACER BM320 Monitor - Horizonal Flickering Lines After a While
                    by reessi
                    Hello,

The monitor started off showing flickering thin (1 pixel) lines horizontally every say 3mm..

They are black on the right and gradually fade to nothing on the far left.
They start either after 5 mins or up to 2 hours after so annoying for testing.
They flicker continuously very fast! With a slight pause milli-second every second.

Initially I cleaned the LVDS cable and connected to the T-Con and then it worked fine for 3 weeks but not sure if this was just co-incidence.

I tested each half by removing the first the left flex from...

Hello everybody! It's been nine years and I'm back again with the same monitor that several people here helped me fix back then. The first time, I replaced two caps as was recommended here and the original problem was solved. Then it started acting up a few years later and I came back for a parts list and replaced a few more caps (I didn't make a post about that and don't remember which ones), and again the problem was solved. This time, however, I'm not sure if it's caps.

The monitor stays on but certain colors will flicker. Generally it's darker colors like dark greys or dark blues,...

Hi, I have this tv a LG 55UH661V that show flickering images and lines. I tried to take off one at time the right and the left ribbon cable and put the tape for ask the pin…but nothing working. Or I stop to have picture or still flickering. Someone can help me to understand what pin I have to mask? What I notice the buffering board, the flat cable becomes very hot, I don’t think it s normal, I’m talking about the orange flat cable soldering on the buffering board, both side are very hot. I give you the photo with both the ribbon cable on and a photo with the right off and with the lefts...

                    Hello to all,
I have just seen this YT video about solving flickering issue on SAMSUNG TV. Reading many comments it seems this works.
But I wonder what is done here and how this solved the issue. I'm not able to find the schematics so cannot explain to myself.
Few years ago I had a flickering problem on one monitor in some factory which I managed to solve by inserting UPS between monitor and power outlet. I also notice on this occasion the flickering was gone if I put insulation tape on the power plug like shown in the attached picture to remove connection with the PE conductor...

HP ENVY HP 13-aq1013dx - screen flickering black if using touchpad or external mouse

This device came in due to the screen flickering if you use the touchpad or external mouse. It will flicker black when this occurs. If you use the touchscreen, the behavior does not appear. Also, if connected to external monitor, the external monitor is not affected by the flickering. I did a good amount of research on this, and concluded that it is due to the display driver. HP does not offer Windows 11 drivers for this model so I got the replacement drivers direct from Intel. I installed them and the problem...
