      Re: Samsung UE40EH5000K No Power

Need voltages from connector that goes from power supply board to main board. Will need pin#- PIN DESCRIPTION -Pin voltage in standby-Pin voltage when pushing power button and picture of connector on power supply board.
      Format:
Pin# - Pin Description - Pin Voltage standby - Pin voltage power on
      1 - XXXXXXX - XXv - XXXv
      2 - XXXXXXX - XXXv - XXXv
      3 - XXXXXXX - XXXv - XXXv
      4 - etc.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

Try checking bridge rectifier. Thought you just wanted to know what board is bad.

                        Re: Samsung UE40EH5000K No Power

ive discovered a few parts are bad on the PSU

                        DM855C
                        DM857C
                        DM853C
                        DM851C

                        have no continuity at all

                        and the main input fuse

is there any point repairing them ?

or should I just replace the board ?

                        thanks

I agree with you it just went dead for no reason,

ive checked most of the others and they test out ok

whats the worst that would happen if I replace the fuse with the same one and replace the diodes ?

the diodes that have gone are on the backlight circuit

                            ive noticed that

How are you measuring the diodes? are you using the diode test mode on the meter or just checking their resistance?
If the diodes are indeed open, that will not blow the fuse.

Diodes don't show continuity. Test in diode mode, put the leads on one way then the other.
How are you testing the other components ?
As for repairing than replacing, it's uncommon to find a board cheaper than the components for a repair, it just depends on your skills/tools.

                                      Hi guys

Sorry ive not been in touch sooner.

Happy new year to you all.

Well anyway the mosfet is shorted to ground as ive discovered that by testing it with a multimeter.

Ive got a replacement mosfet but its slightly less on the spec

The original one is a 60R580P
And the replacement one is a 13N50C

Do u think it would be ok for testing purposes as im still learning all this.

                                      Thanks

Underspecd component may work for testing but will not last.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                          Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                          Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

                                          Hi

Picked up another TV. Samsung UN43NU6950FXZA. No power and no standBy led on. Removed back cover and:
                                          Main fuse = OK
Back light LED = OK. Power them with aux power source
                                          LED output = OK 156V
I do get 12 V DC out of the power supply going to the digital section but no 5V or 3.3V. PS_on voltage is only 1.8V. I have looked everywhere on the PCB , I could not find i reference for 5V output.
Also removed connections to panel, speakers and remote but no luck. One strange thing is that even with the LED power supply working, backlight LED do not turn on...

                                          Hi All,

                                          Need help.

I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.

So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard....
