    Vizio VO420E Main Board

I ordered the Eeprom repair kit and I am wondering if anyone knows the Eeprom locations and can tell me which one to replace. The symptoms are:
    amber standby light
white logo light after I turn on power
No picture, no sound and can turn the power off.

I already replaced the power board and nothing changed.

Here is the information for the board:

    Vizio:
    3642-0732-0150 (OB)

Sadly, my board seems to be kind of rare to obtain for a working replacement, so I ordered the kit to replace the EEPROM. Does anyone here know which EEPROM I am supposed to replace? I also need the location, here is the board below:

If you bought the kit....Look at the Nos. on the kit IC/s and replace that on your Main Bd. with the same No. Probably change out everything that came with the kit.....

Thank you! After you said that, it made a lot of sense. It seems that they are both by the HDMI inputs?

Looking at a better photo on shopjimmy. It looks like there are two ICs marked with paint. You will need to check what's written on them to identify which it is. The one I think it is is not near the HDMI ports.

I want to thank you for the information regarding the "paint marks". Is the standard practice to mark those EEPROMS with paint?

Is this basically using a magnifying glass and matching the part numbers and replacing them? I'm going to practice de-soldering and then soldering these (original) components on the main board I already have. I had to order another main board because the previous owner broke a clip to one of the T-con connections.

                Re: Vizio VO420E Main Board

I received the EEPROM kit and the donor board. It doesn't look like the vendor put that paint mark on their for pin one on the U18 EEPROM. I took pictures to show what I am talking about.

Any ideas on how to figure where the pin one is on the new eeprom?

When I plugged the "new" main board in to see what it would do, it self tested and showed that I had back-light but I couldn't turn it of when I pushed the power button. Now it does the amber Vizio to the white Vizio with no back-lights or picture. I started to test the Low Voltage Regulators and they all had voltage and checked out well. Then I checked what I think is a Low Voltage Regulator on TU31 and there was absolutely no voltage reading;could this be a problem? I'm going to put the old board back in and take a reading. Any suggestions? Here are the photos below, the U5 had voltage but TU31 didn't:

Sceptre U550CV-UMR 4K LED, Bad Caps on Main Power Board?
                      by Dani_2024
Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

                      Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
                      by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
                      CN6401
                      Pin 01 NC
                      Pin 02 NC
                      Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
                      Pin 04 "N/C"
                      Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
                      Pin 06 "GND": N/C
                      Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
                      by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                      by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                      Assuming...
