Re: Sanyo FW42D25T
What is the top marking on the ic? what is the vcc voltage?

Re: Sanyo FW42D25T
Thanks gentlemen, any way to verify UB101 is not working, like testing QB101 or DB106? QB101 has 170 v on middle pin, 0 v on the other two, DB106 tests good in diode mode, has 170 v on each end.Leave a comment:

Re: Sanyo FW42D25T
It is on the primary side. There will be a small driver ic, likely a smd 6 pin, this ic drives a power mosfet that switches the primary of the main transformer to produce the secondary voltages.Leave a comment:

Re: Sanyo FW42D25T
not sure, is that ic on the primary/hot side? I don't see any ic on the hot side.Leave a comment:

Re: Sanyo FW42D25T
For the primary smps ic to operate it first needs vcc voltage, what do you measure on the vcc pin of the ic?Leave a comment:

Re: Sanyo FW42D25T
oops I lied, there is 170 volts on 2 pins of the transformer on hot side.Leave a comment:

Re: Sanyo FW42D25T
Only getting voltage there, only millivolts or 0 volts everywhere else, no voltage on cold side no voltage on any coil or cap except filter cap no voltage on UL1, UL2 or eeprom, maybe problem with transformer?:Last edited by nomoresonys; 01-16-2023, 01:43 PM.Leave a comment:

didnt have a 10uf 50v cap handy for the orange cap, threw a 47uf 50v in there.Leave a comment:

Re: Sanyo FW42D25T
think the panel didnt crack but its no wonder, was working on a small table thats easy to get around, almost dropped the whole thing off of it. With tv plugged in to power, the only voltage I get is 170 on filter cap and voltage on the big diodes next to it, seems to be no voltage at any connectors, no voltage on UL1 or UL2, guess I'll try switching out a few more electrolytics, my gm328a cap tester tests m pretty good out of circuit but for shit in circuit, no choice but to guess, maybe switch out the 4 green samxon caps.Last edited by nomoresonys; 01-11-2023, 07:18 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: Sanyo FW42D25T
Thanks R J, I think I messed something up, I switched out those 2 caps, decided to put the screen back on but had a hard time fooling around with it, the whole frame seems to be really flimsy, might of cracked the screen not sure, instead of getting 30 seconds on, now I get nothing at all, not the first time I've gone in reverse trying to fix something.Leave a comment:

Re: Sanyo FW42D25T
I don't believe this power supply has a pfc circuit, I would suspect the small vcc caps in the primary CB107, CB106? (the orange and black ones)Leave a comment:

Re: Sanyo FW42D25T
have one of these, had a slightly bulged 16 v 470 uf cap, replaced, tv will work ok for 30 seconds then it blanks out backlight and sound goes out, dont seem to be getting the boosted voltage at filter cap, is 170 when hit power button or in standby, wasn't getting backlights to light with tester, tore down to expose them, they all lit up wondering what voltages I should be getting on UL1 and UL2, in standby I guess, because it doesnt seem to want to stay powered up, maybe its a problem in the pfc section, not sure, any ideas?Leave a comment:

Re: Sanyo FW42D25T
I am hoping someone else has fixed this model as the PS is not available anywhere. Any idea of where to begin looking for problems on the board that would cause not getting 12V to LVDS?Leave a comment:

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by HERETIK10Hi everyone,
I have a strange problem (for me) on an MSI GT70 2PE laptop.
When it's under heavy load, power goes steadily to the battery (for 2 or 3 seconds) then return to the charger. If I remove the battery it turns off.
The higher the load, the lower the voltage on the main rail. We go from 19.5V, PC connected to the charger but turned off (normal consumption of 0.06A)
On, when it draws 2A the voltage is 19.2V, then eventually collapses to 18.5V (and turns off) around 5A.
I removed the first 2 mosfets (PQ13 & 14) from the main rail, without noticeable change.... -
by Dani_2024Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO
Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...5 Photos -
by rddubeHello friends,
Looking for some guidance here. The RAM voltage circuit on this motherboard keeps burning out PU301 which is a RT8231AGQW. Copy of the board with the burnt chip attached with some voltage measurements and copy of the schematics also included.
I think I've checked almost every component in the circuit, but when I change the RT8231, the laptop starts I have 1.2V on the inductor for about 10 seconds and then the RT8231 goes south and no more voltage on the inductor. All other voltages on the laptop are good, this is the only one conking out for a reason I... -
by HenkeI wondering if there are some usual faults regarding the PS_ON signal from main board to PSU board?
Where do i start looking?
I have standby light and the PSU is working if i connect 3.3V to the PS_ON pin on the psu board.... - Loading...
