    Vizio VA320m Black Screen Help!

My Vizio VA320m recently just stopped producing an image. I use this TV currently as a Monitor for my PC. i was in the middle of browsing the internet when all of a sudden a noise came out of the speakers and a little Black Blank Box appeared in the top right corner of the TV and then everything went black.
The Vizio logo still turns from Orange to White when turning the power on but no Picture or sound. I have tried all the HDMI ports but still no picture or sound. Any ideas or help on what to do next would be much appreciated.

Please upload good clear pictures of the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards so we can see what we are dealing with.

There are two white connectors on that power supply board; one goes to the main board, another one goes to the inverter board, we need to the DCV reading of those pins on the connector after the TV is turned on by the power switch.
There are pin names printed on the board so make sure to report the readings with pin name and follow by the Voltage reading so we can see if Voltages and the command signals are all there or not.

OK, you have all the correct signals and Voltages except the ON/OFF (BL-ON) to turn on the backlights circuit, it should be >2.5Vdc for the backlights circuit to turn on, it comes from the main board.
You have 1 -00.1. No name for that pin? It looks to be the same as ON/OFF pin.
            12 - 05.0: Is this pin labeled as 5V?

Pin1 on CN902 and ON/OFF Pinon CN903 should be 5.0Vdc or there about. No ON/OFF signal coming from the Main Bd.

I did another reading on pin 1 and on/off from CN902 and CN903
and both of those were 0.09

The main board sends voltage change signals to turn on power supply and this looks OK then it sends signal to turn on backlight via inverter and that doesn't seem to be happening. Strange you have no sound as voltage looks to be there OK. For this set I don't know if signal voltage goes high or low Andrew probably does.

Just adding to the above if you test voltage for backlight on/off in standby then turn on and having left probes in place you see what changes. If nothing either fault on main or if a flicker on dmm possible problem with inverter.

OK, so PIN 1 is ON/OFF, and pin 12 is 5V.
You can force on the backlights by disconnecting the ON/OFF wire going back to the main board FIRST, then use 470~1K ressistor (1/4 W will be fine) hook up between ON/OFF pin and the 5V pin to see if the backlights will come on; you should see the image on the screen and all the functions should work if the only fault is ON/OFF signal, if not then you have more than just bad ON/OFF signal.

Ok so i de-soldered an old 470~1K resistor from an old creative Inspire T2900 i had collecting dust pulled a 'MacGyver' and "presto" we have Backlights.. No menu no splash screen or Vizio Logo... But Backlights we have. crossing my fingers that the rest is oh but a simple task.

                                          Hello,

YouTube video of the problem encountered: https://youtube.com/shorts/q7TLNv36LUo

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.

I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.

I changed the battery with a new and original battery.

I also had corrosion/oxidation on the...

                                          Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

                                          Hello everyone !

My name is Chris, I am a 30 years old embedded software developer working in the automotive industry. I am really passionate about learning new skills and repairing/crafting stuff. I came around this forum last week with the goal of repairing my faulty gaming laptop, indeed, I was video editing on it when suddenly a black screen popped and never disappeared I bought some stuff to try to repair it and learn as many things as possible about computer repairs but nothing worked so far. When the black screen appeared, my legion 5 pro was connected to my external monitor...

                                          Hi everyone,
I have this strange behaviour with Acer Aspire E5-574-52RH, i5 6200U, intel graphics, DA0ZRWMB6G0 Rev G, model ZRW.
Laptop came in for a SSD upgrade, took everything apart to install the SSD.
Everything started after modifying BIOS settings to boot UEFI instead of Legacy.
Laptop works fine, i installed windows 10 and drivers/updates, everything works ok(when it works)
The black screen problem is random, maybe 5 out 10 times, laptop remains with the black screen, no image

                                          Symptoms are:
                                          - random black screen after displaying Acer logo...

So our beloved M60-C3 up and died the other day. I was not there, my wife mentioned that it came on, displayed the logo, then showed the right half of the screen white and fuzzy, with the left half of the screen ok. However when I got around to looking at it, the screen would not come on at all. The indicator LED will come on, then dim a bit. After a while, the LED might blink a bunch of times. I can't get it to be consistent to do that.

So I've got the back off and am checking voltages. The capacitors on the power supply board visually check out. No bulges or anything. They all show...
