Re: LG 60PC1D-UE picture messed up
tom....i believe serv manual wrong on testing buffers
i tested all 4buffers i have and same pins on all 4 had continuity......which i thought was odd....so i did more testing and it appears on each connector therr are 4ground pins ....so you cant rake all pins ..if u look on bottom of board trace compared to top of board you can see which pins are ground....so it appears buffers are not shorted as you stated.
sorry....

Main board = a/v input board.
Run the test patterns !Leave a comment:

Re: LG 60PC1D-UE picture messed up
It's probably just the interference from the TV driving your meter crazy, you might need a better meter.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 60PC1D-UE picture messed up

Re: LG 60PC1D-UE picture messed up
Listen to me: Your buffers are not shorted if you have any picture.
You would not have a picture (that is, distinguishable lines, that show parts of an image) if your buffers were shorted.
If your buffers were shorted, your Vsc would be zero, not crazy.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 60PC1D-UE picture messed up
and i havent tested tv for pucture recently....just been trying to isolate no vsc vsetup issue
it does appear buffers are shorted unless my method of testing is incorrectLeave a comment:

Re: LG 60PC1D-UE picture messed up
i know...but per serv manual test method they are both shorted
i put 1 lead on large floating ground pad and raked pins where rubbon cables connect to.....
is this correct method to test for short?Leave a comment:

You wouldn't have any pic if your buffers were shorted.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 60PC1D-UE picture messed up
and i just looked back and tom you stated how to check buffer for shorts and it is exactly how serv man shows
so i have to assume my buffers are both shorted?Leave a comment:

Re: LG 60PC1D-UE picture messed up
per serv manual buffer test is one lead on floating ground pad on buffer other lead rake pins on buffer
should be no contnuity
does this sound correct?
i just tested my buffers that way and i get multiple shortsLeave a comment:

by ChattFixI have a Samsung UN55TU700DFXZA with a distorted picture and I thought it was a bad panel. I had a similar board with one number off and still tried it to see what the issue could be. The picture came out clear with only missing blue hue I think. I found a replacement board for $30 but wanted to learn if this would be the main IC or possibly something else. I don't have service manual so looking to learn about these cheap sets....

by JJAAMMThis was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.
Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode... -
by VenHi,
