    I laid the TV face down and the set has been on for over 2 hours this way with no power cycling. So I don't think its the backlights.

      Verify that all the board mounting screws are tightened, also try flexing the chassis to see if it will cause the problem to occur.

        Tightened all screws and checked all connections. As soon as I lift it upright it turned off within a minute. Unplug unit set TV face down and re plugged and it's working again.

          Just posted this on another thread, had a sony that did same thing, a mainboard replacement fixed it.
