    TV power supply

    . I've actually have a question about a power supply it's a noob question really I'm doing a project where I'm using the cfl's from a flat screen the only issue I'm having is I can't seem to turn the power supply on with out the main board connected the power supply has the ballast integrated into the power supply what I need to do is take the power supple find where the p-on is jupiter it to turn it on the activation the cfl but I cant seem to find any reference to it her is the board part number 715g3770 p03 w30 003s

    We need makes, model, and good clear pictures of the board and how all the boards are connected together to be able to help you.

      thats the power supply and type of tv i got the power supply to turn on now im just trying to get the ccfl's to turn on im not sure if im using the correct resistor to jump bl-on wire i will upload pics in a few

        i do know the lights and power supply were working when i did the tear down of the tv but i just cant seem to get it to send a on signal to the balast for the ccfl

              At mainboard end of cable to power supply jump your ps_on to 5v stby with a 1k resistor and probably same for bl_on
              I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

                  I have been using the wrong rated resistor dose it have to be 1k

                    Usually your turn on voltage is about 3.2v so it is good to drop your 5v down with resistor. Some just jumper the pins with no resistor. To much resistance will drop voltage to much and will not work.

                      470~1K will be fine, 1K will limit the max current to 5mA (5V supply) if it is fed to the PS-ON/BL-ON receiver pin without input resistor.
