That is the opto-isolator and as far as I can work out is the only one on the power supply. If you can measure what voltages you have between the pins mentioned earlier.

i would like to know the purpose of c501 and c502 since both are bulged......

i found the c501 on the micom page of schematics

have no clue what micom is

If they are bulged then they definitely need to be replaced. Unfortunately the schematic doesn't show C502 but C501 is connected to the 5V supply so would have a major affect on the running of the set. 5V is used for all the logic IC's

I would change them and then see if it does the job before doing anything else. While you have the board away from the set to remove the faulty capacitors make sure no other capacitors are showing signs of stress. It would be a good time to change any.

those are the only 2 that show bulged.....and i do see a lot of reference to 5v attached to the c501 on the schematic micom page

do you think its a small possibility these 2 caps are the issue?

and why no c502 on schematics?

                  c502 on my board is a 470uf 35v cap and c501 is 47uf 16v

i should be able to change without removing the board....there is a steel plate underneath i can remove to get to bottm of bord to desolder...

i dont want to remove the board sine the crt is in the way and i cant get to the screws unless i remove the crt..which i dont want to do

C502 is probably on the 15V supply

                          mr buton

i changed out the 2 suspect caps c501 and c502(my esr meter is at work so i couldnt actually test them so i just changed them like you recommended)

                          unfortunately ..no change

still only get 2.5v to the camera board instead of 12v

hi barton and vinceroni and others

i would like to attempt to repair this monitor with your help if possible

i did change the 2 caps and no change..i still only get 2.5v going to camera board and should be 12v

what component could be causing the low voltage? and no power up at all...dead..
and since i can not locate the same monitor or board anywhere online i need to repair

                              thank you

start by changing all the capacitors on the standby/power suppy area thats always a good starting point

not sure which caps to look for....for whatever reason the schematics do not match my board as far as components...

                                    just messing around here...

i have a power supply that i can try to connect leads to and try to connect to the 12v connectors going to the camera board..shouldnt this power on the board and hence the front camera lights indicators on the front of monitor turn on?..

also on my universale power supply adapter that has 5 diff v settings..when i put it on 12v i test it at 19v and when i put it on 9v it tests at like 14v..why such a diff?..if i go to 7v it tests at just over 12v so i guess i would use that to go to the 12v input to test the camera board?

Remove the fuse so that you cannot accidentally power up the TV via the mains.
The set itself is rated at 34 Watts so a regulated supply of 12V x 3Amp should be capable of running it although I suspect 12V x 4 Amps or more if the camera's also have their power supplied by the TV.

The readings you are getting from the power supply is because it's an unregulated power supply which I would not use in this case. There are cheap laptop power supplies with regulated 12V supplies available everywhere.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                            Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power

                                            Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                            Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Samsung TV won't turn on ... keeps cycling the power relay on & off

                                            Hi All,
First time posting here ... my name is Kevin but my friends call me Journey.
I have a Samsung 75" LCD model UN75RU8000FXZA that I don't remember the original fault other than it wouldn't power up anymore.
After it sat for many month's I decide to look at it again. The motherboard seemed to have power regulation issues. After much fussing I decided to just get a new MB.
It came a few days ago and I installed it now just cycles the power relay on and off ... when on the backlights light up and then dim and then relay kicks off and the whole things starts again....

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply

I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
