samsung CRT security monitor wont power on model ssc-12

    hi

i have an old school black and white samsung crt security monitor that will not power on..its a 4 camera monitor with auto switching built in

    it made in 2003

a couple years ago the display was going real dark on it but would power on fine...and now it wont power on at all..no power light ..nothing...dead...

not sure if these are both from same issue...but i would like to repair if possible as its a specific onior that i cant buy anymore and be compatible with my cameas

i dont want tyo install a new system right now...its too much work

i want to fix if possible...

    thank you

and there is no clicking sound or any sounds at all when trying to turn on

on the back is a main power switch in addition to the power switch on front of monitor

the main glass fuse is ok

start with obvious things like power switch .
just a note the last crt sets i fixed had problems with the H.O.T transistor . if i remember rightly they resided near the fly-back transformer .
see if you can find a schematic for it .

I believe that this is the manual so if you could take some voltage readings.

yes....i know...and im very novice...so not sure i will continue...

i did test the main switch on back and the actual switch does function using my meter..

i have messed with lots of lcd tvs and a few plasma tvs.. over the years and have repaired many...is this crt more dangerous?

even though the monitor does not power on i am going to check and see if i at least got 12v going to the board for the cameras...

ok i dont even have 12v going to the camera board....which should have power all the time regardless if monitor display is on or off....

actually i get 2.5v to the camera board not 0v

and i power monitor on and off from the back power switch and voltage does go to 0 when off and about 2.5v when on ...it should be 12v

sorry for the responses but im just sitting here looking at the boards and thinking out load....i see 2 caps that are slightly bulged but they are away from the power switch they are in middle of board C501 and C502...right next to the large black cylinder looking part that has a single wire coming out of it going into the crt....i doubt these caps could have anything to do with the monitor not powering on?

It's probably a good idea to replace them as they may cause problems later in life.

The black cylinder part [i think] is the flyback transformer.

                                      Page 35 of schematic

It's quite possible that TOP224YC has failed however some initial checks can be done

What DC voltage do you have between the two legs of C103
What DC voltage do you have between pins 1 & 2 of PC101 (PCF801)
What DC voltage do you have between pins 3 & 4 of PC101 (PCF801)
What DC voltage do you have between Pin 2 & 3 of U101 (TOP224Y)

With power off test diodes ZD101, ZD102, D101, D102, D104 using meter in diode mode.

Finally I would remove and measure and if necessary replace C106, C114 & C117

                                        thanks a lot mr barton

i will check when i get some time....im very anxious to see if i can this this sytem working again since right now i have no security/video protection at my home.

does c501 or c502 have anything to do with my issue or can i rule them out 100%....as far as the power issue....also do you know what c501 and c502 purpose are?

like i said originally the monitor/system worked great ...for over 12 years it was on 24/7.....i didnt have the display on though..i would only turn that on once in a while ..so not sure why the display went real real dark a couple years ago and then now the system seems to not power on at all...

i believe the front power switch is for turning on display only...with the front switch off...the system still was actually on and the front led lights would be on and switch from camera 1 to cam 2 to camera 3 to cam 4..since this was a switching cam system...and i could have valume up and hear sounds from each cam as they switched......all of this worked with front power switch off if i recall...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                          Assuming...

                                          Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                          Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue

                                          Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Samsung TV won't turn on ... keeps cycling the power relay on & off

                                          Hi All,
First time posting here ... my name is Kevin but my friends call me Journey.
I have a Samsung 75" LCD model UN75RU8000FXZA that I don't remember the original fault other than it wouldn't power up anymore.
After it sat for many month's I decide to look at it again. The motherboard seemed to have power regulation issues. After much fussing I decided to just get a new MB.
It came a few days ago and I installed it now just cycles the power relay on and off ... when on the backlights light up and then dim and then relay kicks off and the whole things starts again....

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                                          by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
