    I'm looking for an eeprom dump for this TV:

      Try freezing SPI flash for a good while with compressed air then trying the Tv if it boots download the firmware off umc site and autoupdate it via usb and it should work. Ive gotten away with that a few times.

                              You'll need to remove the eeprom and program it off the board. The cheapest is a CH341A.

                                  Thanks for the info. Do you think the SOIC8 clamp that comes with most kits would work on this without removing the IC ?

                                      Not with any certainty. There are usually caps and resistors that interfere.
                                      Always best to remove it from the board.

                                          Hmm I'm not confident removing it. I'm also not 100% certain it's the EEPROM, the unit powers on (red standby LED to blue) but no screen or sound for 3mins 15 secs, after that it's fine until it's power off or put in standby again.

                                              It's easier to hot air rather than an iron to remove them.
                                              It does sound like an eeprom issue to me. They control the turn on functions.

The device doesn't turn on, the indicator just lights up. It responded to connecting to the PC once. The update process started with the standard program and then disconnected from the computer.                                                                                   Hello, This might be a long shot, but I'm looking for an EEPROM dump for a HP Photosmart C4280 All-in-one printer.

                                                                                  The printer seems to be in cartridge alignment mode. Sometimes it print the alignment page and then hangs during the scanning step, sometimes it hangs during the printing process and sometimes it hangs during the boot process. If I let it idle for a while then it flashes the back-light of the top screen and there's a letter E. Bottom screen is asking me to restart it to no avail. I have to remove the power cable from the printer for a couple of minutes to make it work...
