Thinkpad L390 Yoga (type 20NT serial R90VZWLN) BIOS2 dump needed

    Ho ho ho, badcaps people,

if this qualifies as bios request, hopefully. Actually BIOS2 for that laptop is second smaller SPI flash (Winbond W25Q80DVSNIG-GP-U), containing supposedly some config for TPS65988 which in turn manages USB-C stuff, including PD. This is possibly flash, where update "Power Delivery Firmware (TI TPS65988)" F407.06.29 -- https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/r10pd10w.exe does its thing. Previous owner claims that after clean install of Windows 10 he installed thinkvantage tool of sort, which updated everything for that laptop. I did glance over that history/install log of that tool, recall seeing this very PD -relatead update, maked as failed.

This laptop has USB-C charging issue, presenting itself as slow charging - no more than 15w, nevermind 65w charger being attached and no matter if cpu sometimes consumes more wattage. In such times battery is being discharged slowly. Cannot run for long under heavy workload, is the essence of that annoyance.

Assuming that BIOS2 is failed or its content corrupt, I would need someone with same machine please dump that chip. Not sure (before I go poking it with stick) perhaps it is just as working laptop with or without that flash and that r10pd10w update would update new empty part also without complaining. If someone happens to have that dump or is willing to dump it, I would be grateful.

PS. any idea how to apply this r10pd10w.exe using linux? fwupd has been tried, it has no updates for that laptop. I did update regular bios with lenovo bios update iso beforehand, so thats new -ish.

Problem solved. Went to poke the damn flash and first thing that was missing, was its power... Well then. Found its schematic and dismantled the whole machine. Obiviously some coffee-accident, couple of placed on pcb looked quite bad. Traced these interesting parts and found one unfortunate exposed copper-pad, which had lost its connection to its trace. Soldered some metal in its place and flash suddenly has its power back. And wattmeter shows 20w and other bigger numbers at times.

And thats not all, success did not stop with usb-c charging improvements. I had some dell-branded usb-c ethernet dongle with that laptop. Which never ever worked. It got power from usb-c and ethernet link came up in switch. But. Never any network devices in operating system. No windows, nor linux ever saw anything. Not just ethernet device, no usb device appeared at all. Guess who started working after usb-c charging got fixed

    Merry Christmas, badcaps people.
