I have a vizio e550i-b2 that randomly distorts the picture. It had the classic broke solder joints that have been repaired. This did not change the distortion. The Vizio logo always comes on fine. Then it changes to lines across the screen. I have tried 2 power supplies, 2 inverter boards, 3 inputs and two t-cons. The only thing left is the screen. I have tried to move every cable but nothing consistently changes the screen. if i have a bad screen why does the logo work every time? I have not read about bad screens on this model and was wondering if someone else could confirm.

Re: Vizio e550i-b2 distorted picture
its was a bit of a "mis-spoke"... but related... as some people think that spraying a little water / cleaner on the screen will do no harm. It doesn't hurt the screen but any moisture finding its way down the screen into the edge boards at the bottom (not tcon) may have a very bad outcome. What is the history of the tv / failure?Comment

Re: Vizio e550i-b2 distorted picture
the logo doesn't cover all fault conditions. Anyways, your picture appears to show issues with signals entering the bottom of the panel (ie. vertical issues) that usually point to potentially problems with cabling / drivers down there... especially since you have tried other components already.Comment

by maricmHI all,
hope someone point to the possible issue before I start buying replacement parts.
Tv starts normal and responds to remote fine, PSU voltages mesured fine 19v was 18.9V under load and 19V with main board disconnected.
Backlight stays on all the time,
Sound works fine.
screen keeps changing form black to full picture in about 1sec intervals.
Picture looks fine with no visible artifacts.
I have disconnected backlights and flashlight test confirmed that picture is still doing the same.

by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... -
by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
Have a Samsung UN50NU7400 which shows a boot screen and a screen saver if left on long enough but no picture ?
Would a moving screen saver confirm that the panel is ok or it could still be a panel issue ? -
by reformattJust had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".
It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...07-31-2025, 08:37 PM - Loading...
