Re: Sharp Aquos LC-70LE650U display is slow and discolored
I removed the side bar. I found the tabs, they're underneath the yellow transparent strips. Am I supposed to cut all 5 of them or should I try one at a time?Comment

I haven't cut anything but for some reason now the backlight and screen won't turn on when I turn the TV on? Is there a cable on this side that controls this?Comment

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-70LE650U display is slow and discolored
I would back up and do some of the "tests" (unplug cables) that you did initially to get picture displayed a while back.... If those are not repeatable, I would stop and "rethink" things with help from here.Comment

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-70LE650U display is slow and discolored
further, its not really a "cut", its more of a pull, like removing tape from a piece of paper / cardboard... basically tearing it away as cleanly as possible.
oops looks like you are there
double oops... are you saying that you did nothing in terms of "removal"????Last edited by budwich; 01-28-2017, 06:20 PM.Comment

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-70LE650U display is slow and discolored
maybe.... that would be good....
since you can't see much / any "damage" to the tab drivers (visually)... you could be right. BUT... as suggested, feed in a known test pattern such as color bars smpte or equivalent (can be found on some dvd material) and take a picture of the display... then people can look closer at that to see if there is an underlying display problem... fingers are crossed that you are lucky.Last edited by budwich; 01-28-2017, 06:35 PM.Comment

by sefosterI have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked. If we plug it in and let it cycle through the flashing of the Sharp...

by jonah1024Hello!
I'm a few days old into this TV screens repair universe so please bear with me.
Recently, and all of a sudden my 40ā 4K Sharp Aquos LCD TV turned on with colors all smudged in some places on the screen that remain like that even without any kind of video source. I do have image but the colors are smudged/tinted/ washed out in patches as per defects. This to me looks similar to burn in but Iām shore this is not an OLED.
- I did the classic unplug and hold power button to discharge the caps but it didn't help.
- I did a factory reset as well...5 Photos -
by joblo37pamIt's been a while since I've checked in here or needed input on narrowing down what to replace on a TV repair, but I've got one on my bench now that has me wondering. The lack of part (board) availability means I may need to do some component-level diagnostics, and a second opinion is always good when it comes to that.
The issue - Sharp LC-80LE844U does not display. Power light comes on for a while, then you can hear a relay click off and the light blinks twice slow, then five times fast. Service manual points to 'Panel Power Supply Error' with this code, but isn't much more help... -
by klassicHi community,
I will describe my problem with a TV in those short following terms to be the most precise :
What i have :
Sharp Aquos LC-60LE635E
power board DPS-162KP-1
main logic board QPWBXF733WJN2
symptoms :
white led light logo at startup,
after 2 minutes, blinking 3 times a row, repeating
no backlight (and apparently no picture, checked panel with flashlight)
no startup sound
powerboard investigations :
1-2 PNL : 0v
3-4 GND
5-6-7-8 UR : 13.15v

by foxyUKCan anyone help me diagnose this? Almost not worth bothering with, but it has 'sentimental value' for the owner. I'm no TV technician, but dabble a bit.
The TV has standby power but no reaction at all to switching on or reboot steps, No flashing lights or response to menu button. All voltages on the power board are correct apart from missing voltage on pin 12 of CN7003.
There is 13 v on U7053 but no 3v signal to switch it on. I don't really understand whether the 3v should come from U7401 in the standby control area, or (as suggested elsewhere) from the mainboard via pin 12.... - Loading...
