    Dell W4200HD No power

I've been looking around on the web and have not found many information on what you get if the power board has no power diagnostic LED's lit. I already tested the input from the plug going right into the and its ok

the final stage main caps metal looks flat and intact even though the plastic cover looked bloated

but that wouldn't be the problem right, since no diagnostic LED's are lit to get to the final stage

also tested all fuses and all are good

Better to post a photo's of the boards.
"The final stage main caps metal looks flat and intact even though the plastic cover looked bloated"..... is usually a sign that it needs replacing.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Every time I read up on this tv there is always some LEDs lit when plugged in, and I get none. Here is a pic around the ac input and the four big mains (one top cut off by me)

So NONE of the dcv out connectors have any DCV at all when running the board by itself?

            added information:

I get a buzzing sound around L8003 (circled)

in addition. When I unplug it, about 2 seconds later one of the green leds blinks for a fraction of a second

the customer told me a power surge might have been the responsible, part of his house is ungrounded.

Well, there are labels for those pins of the connectors on that power supply board, what are the Voltages for each one of those pins (put down pin name follow by the DCV reading so we can at least see what Voltages are missing, that will be a starting point.

                Re: Dell W4200HD No power

VSB, VE, pretty much all diagnostic points read 0 except DC_VCC, reads 125DC, so its going past the rectifier

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                  by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

                  by Akhlz001
                  Hi,

Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate...

                  by master3112
I would like to share my experience about charging issues with Dell power supplies with the tech community. I am working on a Dell Inspiron 5590, Mainboard 18778-1 with charging problems. The device can be switched on and works so far, only the message appears at startup:

Alert! The AC power adapter wattage and Type cannot be determined. The battery may not change. The System will adjust the performace to match the power available.

The power supply unit is not recognized in the Bios and the charging process is set to "idle". I use original Dell battery, type...

Dell thunderbolt firmware, extracted from dell firmware update exe. Padded to 1MB.

Some models have a choice of 2 different firmwares, it depends on the dell SKU.
The SKU is in brackets (****)

Have extracted the BIN and want to know how to rebuild a clean BIOS

I have come across the 8F8C patcher but not sure if that would work in my case as the service tag ends in 0001.
I tried it and although the log states it patched several mentions of 8F8C in the BIN, I haven't flashed it yet in case such a patch wouldn't work.

Have also tried to extract a clean BIN file from Dell's .exe BIOS updates using 'Dell PFS Extractor', but not confidently; Ended up with a 25MB file instead of the same 32MB...
