Samsung PN51F5500AFXZA issue - Power board thermistors cooked?

Hi everybody. I recently acquired this 2013 Samsung Plasma TV, model PN51F5500AFXZA for free because it wasn't working. The red LED just continuously blinks when plugged in.

The thermistors on the power board look cooked, with some discolouration of the PCB around them. I've attached an image of the board. The thermistors show as shorted when connectivity tested with multimeter.

I tested all the diodes I could see, they all appear working, no shorts. No bulged caps. Nothing else looks shorted or burnt out. The fuse looks fine and tests shorted with continuity.

    Power board is: P51FF_DSM PSPF361503A

Should I try replacing the thermistors? I found this part number for thermistor for this model: 1404-001224

thermistors do run warm . they should lower resistance as they get warmer ..look up the spec sheets .. they probably start about 2.5 ohms at room temp.

Re: Samsung PN51F5500AFXZA issue - Power board thermistors cooked?

With the back off, I can hear a click and a high-pitch tone coming from the power board, when the LED blinks. It appears it's trying to boot itself up to some point, maybe a self check, when power is applied, but there's some issue.

Anybody have an idea on whether it's a power supply board or main logic board issue?

      Thanks!

I wouldn't advise you run it, thermistor normally blows if there is shorted fets.

Tried plugging it in without main board. No backlights came on and no click from the power board.

10K Ohms, that can't be right for the Inrush current limiter NTC, they are usually around 3~5 Ohms range..

That power supply is most likely fine. It rarely goes out. With power disconnected and voltages at 0v check the resistance between VS and ground. You may find it to be shorted due to a bad X or Y sustain. If not check the transistors on those boards for shorts to ground.
Also pictures of the back of the set would help.

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
                          by Asraf Atb
                          Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
                          by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

Samsung Series 9 - BIOS issue
                          by Kjell
After installing Linux, I can no longer enter the BIOS of my Samsung Series 9 (NP900X3C) laptop. When pressing [F2] during boot I simply get a black screen. Same thing when pressing [F10] and choosing "Setup" from the "App Menu" tab. Apparently this is a relatively common issue with Samsung laptops of that generation, but unfortunately i haven't been able to resolve the issue (yet).

Things i've tried so far; reinstalled Windows 10, checked for redundant boot entries, tried to factory reset using the emergency keyhole, attempted to clear the NVRAM by physically...

                          by alltvrepairs
                          Hi,

I have confirmed that I have a mainboard problem.
I have tracked no hardware issued on board so might be a software dump required.

I have searched a bit but wasn't able to find anything for my screen:

                          Here are some more details:
                          Panel: cy-nn065hgev1h
                          Main: BN94-14180M P08F

                          Your help much appreciated!
