    Panasonic TCP50S1

    Merry ( day after ) Christmas !

This 2009 Plasma tv, Panasonic TC-P50S1 went dark on me this past Sunday evening. A loud pop was heard just before the screen turned black. I am getting the "seven blinks of death".I would like to repair this set. I really like the display, even at 720p. And of course, I'd like to do it as inexpensively as possible. The search results (via Google) tells me it could be one of several boards. Which board is it likely to be ? There were no lightening storms that evening. No black out. No power surges, as far as I know. I suspect enough dust was collected to form a bridge on one of the boards, though I really don't know.I have already removed the "thousand" or so screws from the back cover. And it's not too dusty IMO. Purchased in late 2009. Is this set worth saving ? Advice would be appreciated.

If you were happy with the tv and want to keep it ...then yes its worth saving! Could you please take some pictures of all boards?

Use the paperclip function to upload files. ( advanced ) Don't use external websites for uploading pictures.

7 blinks can be any board but my guess is the SC Board.

Service manual says 7 blinks is SC / SU or SD board. This means the 3 boards on the left.
You heard a loud pop....good chance the SC board is bad!

Do you have a multi meter?

Haha depends , i only repair Panasonic plasma's

Anyways remove the power cable and the SC20 cable from the SC board and get a multimeter. Measure for short on the white prong connector of the SC board. Constant beep is bad.

I have fixed two of these with similar symptoms. SU and SD board took out the SC board. Also found many what I would call loose screws on all boards.

Ok now remove the buffers from SC and jumper SC50 connector pins on the SC and see if the set comes on. If it aborts again check what Vsus does and Vsc.

I just noticed, that I actually checked the SC2 connections of the SC card and not the SC20, as instructed by Moreno83. SC20 looks like a ribbon kind of connection. So, my question here is, how do I test these tiny connections ?

No no. You need to remove the SC20 ribbon cable from the SC board and remove the cable thats connected to the white prong connector going to the PS.
Remove the buffer boards from the tv or make sure that they DO NOT TOUCH the SC board.

Now measure in beep/diode mode on the white prong connector. No beep is usually good , same for SS board.

With the buffer boards disconnected from the SC board , search for a harddisk jumper and use the SC50 jumper. ( short 2 pins ).
Turn on the TV , does the set stay on or do you get a blink ?

Ps , the SC50 connector is on the bottom left corner next to the black connector going to the buffer boards.
The buffer boards are connected to the SC board with these big bolts , remove the bolts and flip the buffer boards out of the way. Short the SC50 connector and turn on the tv.

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

                                          by aa10aa10
                                          Good day,

I have tried to remove BIOS supervisor password from Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 mk1. Model number CF-33AENABTG, unfortunately I don't have any other info.

I read the BIOS using afuwin, edited it and tried to flash new edited BIOS using afuwin. Unsuccessfully. Afuwin showed "Error: Problem erasing flash." starting with 0x00040000 and stoped. Then I tried many other options to flash BIOS from Windows without any luck. Finally i rebooted the device - and no post. Afterwards I have read the corrupted bios chip (MX25L12873F) using EZP2010 programmer....

Panasonic part number in service manuals
                                          by Yanleb
In the Panasonic service manuals, both in the board schematics and in the part listing, the part numbers that are given are Panasonic part numbers instead of the actual part numbers.

This is especially annoying for small SMD components like diodes and transistors when you only have 1-3 digits printed on the component body.

For an example, look at the attached PDF.

Do you have a way to cross reference the Panasonic part number with the actual part number?

                                          Thanks....
