Re: 42LG5020 solarised/washed out - T420HW02 v0
No repair service is covered by ebay returns.the service that you pay for is the replacement of the IC and no testing is undertaken by seller, he makes it clear in his add if it dont work he has done what you asked and replaced the IC for a new one. This is the same for most board repair services. Most will not be tested after work has been done (you would need a big workshop with all makes and models of sets to test repairs on)Comment

Re: 42LG5020 solarised/washed out - T420HW02 v0
I didn't pay for replacement of the IC though; I paid for a replacement board altogether. That wasn't fit for purpose, and he offered as a gesture of goodwill to fix the board and send it back. I haven't closed the return on ebay so if it's not resolved I'm entitled to my money back as I've not received what I actually paid for, which is a working T-con board.Comment

Re: 42LG5020 solarised/washed out - T420HW02 v0
I did not mean the faulty T.Con you brought , I was talking about general eBay board repair services such as the one linked by Sordids, they are in most cases untested before being returned as fixed. As it is sold to you as a service(repair) ,and not the sale of a board or part, no ebay return has to be given if it does not workComment

Ah right I misunderstood you sorry! I just need to make sure I've got the right board as if I've been sent back my original one, that's an issue as that's not what I paid for.Comment

Update:
Turns out that he replaced the AS15 on the original and sent that back, told me to discard and he'll send back the one I actually bought that he also fixed.Comment

Unfortunately the second of my two Acers has just decided to start dying now after 10 years of service!
It's working but the colours are really washed out - tested it on multiple computers with exactly the same result. It only has one VGA input, which I've tested with both a direct VGA cable as well as a HDMI -> VGA adapter. Eg with Excel open you can't actually see the grid on some parts of the screen, it's just white, and resetting it/changing calibration doesn't really help.
I'm going to tear it apart shortly and report my findings - any ideas?

by mecha1166I am getting these 70 inch Samsungs daily. Dead set light comes on goes off, dark screen. Tried taping the problem lvds cable pins 13 to ? pin, used about 9 mm scotch tape. Picture comes on, no distortion lines, looks good, but 1/2 of screen is washed out. Problem seems to always be the last little strip on the bottom. Has anyone found what is actually the problem? Possibly one of three diodes there? I have a pic but it is washed out on 1/2. Anyony had success in fully restoring the picture? Thanks.1 Photo07-03-2024, 05:03 PM

by alltvrepairsHi,
I have ordered a new main from Samsung. Tv works fine but colours are wrong. I have updated the Panel type as per panel sticker but made no difference. I have another spare good main board and copied the SPI data to the new board but still same problem.
I have attached pics to what difference I have found a difference n the Tcon value as per (2). However haven't found from where I can modify this value. Note I have entered SM with normal remote. Currently I do not have Factory remote.
Do we have a Service Manual for this please?
Any assistance welcome!... -
by cheebsterHello, i have posted in some other thread but i was hijacking someone else's thread it seems. I had the same model.. Anyway, here's the issue
un58tu7000fxza samsung, originally boot looping.
Taping a bit of the right side of the U ribbon connecting both sides of the TV's buffer board got the tv to boot, but no image. That is normal on this set.
So i cut the VGH line on the board going to the ribbon, and fed VGH to the right side of the pcb directly, the tv powered on with no flashing, but it has lines on it.

Hello esteemed gentlemen. I have owned this LCD TV since 2012. The only repair was the replacement of the PSU a few years ago. Apart from that, no issues. Recently, all was working fine until I switched on to see it appear as so. The day before it was working fine. There is sound. Could this be a T-Con board issue? If not, what could it be? Thank you.
