Philips 32PFL4507/F7 Inverter makes whining noise when plugged in.

So my philips 32 inch tv went bad just before black Friday. Even though I grabbed a new Samsung to replace it on black Friday. I kinda want to see if I can repair it. When Its plugged in it makes a really whinny hi pitch sound coming from the inverter. The front panel acts as if there is no power at all. When I unplug it after its been plugged in for a while it makes a loud zzzzippp sound. I assume this is power discharging from the primary capacitor. When i disconnect the IO board it also stops making the whining noise. I assume it is a Io board from this behavior. My logic is that the IO board is the bottle neck and once its disconnected a fail safe in the inverter sends the power back into the circuit.

I can try to resize some pictures if some one wants me to but i cant see any bad caps. However I will be the first person to tell you i am not a electrical engineer so maybe some one here will know better. So what do you guys think?

Help me with one thing when he says main board in that thread is he talking about the IO board/green board on the right in his pictures. I can get a used main board fairly cheap on ebay it may not be worth me buying a multi meter today to get this fixed.

How ever i may teach my self off of the broken one. The only thing I don't know how to do in the future is get power to a main board I wonder if I can jump off my arduino some how? However I could just try to replace solder those caps. I would need to buy a soldering iron though. Hmm Instant joy or brand new toy?

pictures as requested I am afraid that I took a rather poor one of the I/O board but if you want to look at that i can get that up too.

Have a look at this video and check out the parts on your board that they are replacing in the video.
Do you have a multimeter for checking voltages. What DC voltage do you have across the two legs of C605 (330uF/200V) and at the connector, picture attached.

Funai crap inside. Just as almost all Philips, Magnavox, and Emerson stuff is. The squealing noise is most likely due to a short on the main board that's overloading the power supply. This main board is used in dozens of models. Unplug the main from the power supply then apply power. If the whining goes away, it's going to be a bad main board.

The loud 'zzzzippp sound' you are describing is normal on these Funai power supplies. They all do that 10-20 seconds after being unplugged.

Try reflowing the solder on the big inverter.... I have an Insignia that would do the same thing. Once soldered back up to fix the cold joints buzz went away....ymmv

I agree that it is the main board and for the cost of a main board. I should just replace it How ever I am curious about how to trouble shoot some thing like this. Just got my multi meter Sunday so ill be playing with it some time soon.

So I think If I am reading this correctly your asking me to test the 5th pin on the ribbon connection to the main board? An I should be getting a reading of 3.3 or would that be 6.6? I have to be honest I'm not entirely certain what I am looking at with this diagram.

I'm assuming this because i cant find a C605 on the inverter board but I also haven't cracked the TV open again to take a really close look.

                        Hey All!

Long time forum member here with a problematic laptop issue!

I got a RZ09-0196 with a bloated battery (still worked and charged fine) I pulled the old cell pack out and installed a new cell pack in its place.

The laptop would not power on with the new battery installed without the power supply being plugged in.

When booting into Win10 (all up to date BTW) I saw the battery icon with 49% plugged in not charging.

TL;Dr version, old battery worked, charged but was bloated, installed a new non OEM replacement, laptop/windows...

Vizio E55-E1 bad backlights or bad inverter?
                        by x_orange90_x
I just got this tv today and it appeared to have no backlight on. After taking off the rear cover and checking again in the dark I can see that MAYBE one quadrant is lit.. But still it's quite dim. I was going to check the LEDs with my tester, and I found LED 1 and LED 2 + pins on the wire from the inverter, but I couldn't identify a ground. Nonetheless I tried using a mounting screw on the inverter board and also the chassis as ground but regardless my tester reads 300 which is what it reads when there is no voltage draw.

I don't know how exactly to test the inverter itself. Is it...

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?

Philips 37HFL5682L/F7 no standby light, incomplete service manual?
                        by jasonbay13
picked up a tv and when the power is plugged, the standby light flashes real quick then goes off. of 3.3, 12, 24v is all there but i couldnt find any 5v on the back-end board. ON/OFF is low, which it seems is what turns on the backlight so i removed the wire at the back-end board and put a 10k resistor to the 3.3v, which when plugged in brings on the backlight for a split second and also a blue light "LED1" on the inverter board, which goes off after a short time.
am i missing something to bring on the backlight or is the inverter/ccfl gone bad? would that cause the inverter board...

I have a tripp-lite aspint 3636vr inverter charger which blow some of mosfet transistors. I replaced them repaired also the driver circuit and tested but the mosfets burn again.

It work very well as inverter and also as charger if I let the rear switch in auto mode (inverter) and charger only(charging) but in auto when I connect the feed line 220V AC first time it pass ok to line and start charging the batteries but when I remove the feed line it pass to inverter mode and if I do it again the second time when passing from charging to inverter the Main transformer start making a...
